My California - This Week
It's been a while that I posted. Life has been busy. To keep my sanity, I have been hiking and knitting - and listening to lots of audio books.
But not much writing at all.
But while out hiking, I have been thinking of some of the awesome hikers I have met on this platform. And Derek from SoCalHive is the Best!
Here is the contest he runs: Show me Your California
So, I am telling you about our last weekend's hike.
Four brave souls met at the trail head for El Cajon Mountain at 7 am.
The whole trail is pretty much steep hills up and down and coming back, it is the same. Hard to decide what is more difficult. Huffing up the hills or trying to hike down without slipping and hurting knees.
But it is awesome to look down onto the world lol
All said and done, we hiked 11 miles and had an elevation gain of almost 4000 feet. The weather was kind of cold and cloudy which made the hike much less difficult than hiking it in hot weather.
That was a lot of miles to hike but that view would make it worth the trip.
