Wao this is looking very nice I hope you enjoy it saaludos
I think it will be fun!
This is a very expensive style of weaving in Nigeria, we call it "Aso Ofi".
It looks difficult when doing it because I have been to where it's been done before, lots of threads are used and the movement of the workers hand is quite fun to watch.
You are into making clothes already so this shouldn't cause issues.
I love to see some photos of Aso Ofi. That sounds interesting!!
This is what it looks like and there are lots of images of it online. It is a traditional wear.
Thank you. Beautiful!!!
I found an article on the technique. The product looks wonderful! And they are large looms. Hopefully, people will get interested to learn so the knowledge does not get lost!

Nice. That's what I wanted to try.
There are so many different styles of weaving. And it is fun. I think it is high time that we get away from the cheap fast fashion that is polluting our earth and back to wearing things made with natural materials and with pride :)
If you do start learning - please share your progress.
I've been volunteering in a school for persons with disability, and I saw some deaf people being taught. Maybe someday, I'll observe in their class.
Weaving has been around for thousands of years and there are many different techniques. This particular way is Navajo weaving. Navajo's are one of the first people nations in the US.

Are you learning more weaving?
Yes. Since I am living on the Navajo Reservation right now, I signed up for a Navajo Weaving class. It was the first class yesterday - learning how to put the wrap together. So far, it is a lot of fun :)
OF course, it is fun and good work, thanks for your answer
Cool! We live in a town that makes tapestries and carpets (Aubusson is the town next door which is famous for its carpets but we started it here!). There are lots of courses here for all sorts of wool stuff. That's why we have the wool festival. This is a photo I took (11 years ago!) of one of the tapestries they made 500metres from us:
With one of the people who weaved it standing there for context about how bloody big it is!
Can't wait to see what you do!
xxx
Wow! That is so cool! Can't wait to see it. Btw. this year does not look good after all. I can't leave my husband here on his own for any amount of time. Next year, he is retired and can take care of himself - less stress π€ͺ
We have this deaf student doing this work.
This will improve even more your skillz!
I am hoping it will. So much to learn :)
