Plan failed - Night Run
I just finished a 6.185km running that lasted about 0hh:30mm:09ss !
You might remember last week I was glad it was mid-week and I was still following my plan and I had plenty of runs lined up to finish my training. Well, it completely fell apart after that, and in the end I didn't run for a few days. I wasn't inactive, as we went for a long hike, and there's always all the walking with the dog, but no run! So, Tuesday evening, I was determined to go for one, even without the motivation. Of course, the weather forecast kept changing, and minutes before I was going to start my run, I got several alerts on my phone that rain was on its way very soon. I decided to risk it anyways, and it was fine at the beginning. After a mile or so, it started drizzling, and it kept getting heavier, until it was really pouring a bit before the end of mile 3. So I decided to cut the run short. Both my headlight and visibility vest are weather proof and I don't mind rain, but my glasses can quickly become a problem. A few raindrops and I'm basically blind, and you can imagine how dangerous that gets, especially at night... Anyways, it's not even 4miles at a slowish pace. I was planning to run quite longer, which is why I started slower, and I only picked up the pace near the very end.
With just a few days before the race on Sunday, I probably will go for one or two more medium runs, and a final short and slow one on Saturday.
