So, when I planted the three little olives in our rural yard, I continued on the path of playing the creator and deciding what the canopy shape should be. Would you do that? I would, when it comes to civilized plants. They tend to be weaker than the wildlings and I remove some of the randomness of nature and help ir arrange itself in the optimal way as far as I know it.

Optimal for whom, though? Both of us perhaps. What about Nature's grand scheme of things?

I think it does not plan. It just never forget to react.
