Our Bamboo Doing Well, Too. My Actifit Report Card: July 6 2023
After days of heat and drought away from our garden, I was eager to go check on things. It turns out there have been rains there. And the bamboo plants were doing fine, not much different in their green leaves than their brethren at the university botanical garden that I visited a few days ago.
The green stem variety above... the golden stem variety below...
With some dry points on the old leaves but things are going to fresh from there... for now.
I know very little about the species and its comfort on our turf. That remains to be observed.

Awesome, looking forward to reading more on how the bamboo does. Do you have any plans about what you're going to do with it?
Well, there are many steps to be taken. I need to confine it so that it does not grow over the whole area and also so that it doesn't invade the neighbors. It's good for material after the 4th-5th year, they say. Let's focus on helping it survive for a whole year's cycle, then we shall see.
But it's mostly experimenting. Some long-term experimenting.
Just watching it is cool.
I hope some day I shall be able to make small gifts of bamboo in pots.
