Last year I felt great about planting trees 🌳 because of the helping Nature feeling that it brings. I still want to have control, in terms of ownership thus securing a patch of earth, of my own miniature ecosystem. But in the grand picture...Nature does just fine, as long as we do not interfere.
Look at a these abandoned yards of neighbours whom I remember by name, and face, and stories shared.
Trees grow on their own on their properties, already becoming small woods.
This is inside the village and could change with the change of property, of course.

After that rural visit at noon, I was able to even steal some basketball 🏀 time at dusk. I tried to take videos and I might start sharing some...but not right now.
Time...is on nobody's side.

Ultimately nature will reclaim it's own. It will have no mercy on anything in it's way.
