A Moment Of Balance — A Black and White Monomad Entry

Greetings, Fellow Monochromers And Other Wavespotters!

Observing that water from a little closer this time and thinking of what might we do with it.

Some people have a good idea about that.

This is my entry to the #monomad daily challenge. Here is a link to the latest collection.

Camera Settings:

Aperture F4
Shutter Speed 1/2500
Light Sensitivity ISO 200
Focal Length 200 mm

I used a Canon 70-200 4 L lens.

Also, I am quite happy with the lighting here. Studio quality. Or rather, what only a good late afternoon could offer. But the angle is perfect despite the fact that it happened at random.

The waves of the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast are about enough for novice surfers to practice. Being an inland sea it does not usually reach the intensity of what is quite casual for the ocean shores, for instance.

And the photographs I show here are from relatively quiet periods. Perhaps I'll get to a bit more dynamic stuff in a post soon enough.

Still, it has been known to be quite dangerous for sailors and swimmers from time to time.

Still browsing through what I shot during my family vacation in the middle of last summer. Finding time to go back to the photos I know I must have somewhere on the memory drives is not a given. I have to take it. From a pile that's shrinking fast and often. So, I shall be lagging for quite a while.

Sharing on Hive does give me some extra kick in the but to keep doing it. Before retiring, that is. The bigger waves I kept talking about... they are in another album from another vacation altogether. Not there yet. Let's first go through that July 2024 ;) Still a lot remains.

Peace and Harmony!

Yours,

Manol

Nice captures but the first one is definitely my favorite. The person in motion with the wave is simply brilliant.

Thanks, mate. It was my favorite out of all the attempts, too.
