Rarely if ever will a team complete a season or campaign without some sort of adversity. Adversity can happen to anyone, from a player to a coach to management; even relatives or loved ones of any of those people can be hit with adversity.

Adversity can also take any form:

• numerous injuries to any number of players;
• one major injury to a key player or two;
• legal troubles or entries onto the police blotter;
• bereavement;
• bankruptcy;
• scandal; etc.

If a team is blessed to not have the adversities of life afflicting it, then it can focus on the intense training administered during practice and preparation. By the time the game begins, it will be easy compared to the adversity away fromthe game or the intensity of a hard practice.
