To the various markets on a leisurely Sunday - My Actifit Report Card: May 19 2024
Hi my loving Actifiters
how are you friends I hope you are spending this relaxing weekend at home or at the office with your loved ones. As it was an official holiday, we have a lot of work to do on Sunday. Among them, buying kitchen items can be mentioned as an essential activity. Due to the rain this morning, the opportunity to leave for the market came at noon. My wife prepared breakfast and lunch and after eating breakfast left for the market just as it was raining. Although shopping is a lazy thing for me, I must definitely buy the things needed for the kitchen for the next week. We had to go to three places to buy kitchen supplies. These are fish, dried fish and vegetables. The distance between these markets is different because of different lower prices.
First we went to the fish market near Galle city. Called Jakotuwa Fish Market, there are several street shops selling different types of sea fish at different prices. Three kilos of fish were bought at a reasonable price as we were going to give alms to the village temple from our house tomorrow. Walking along the beach between the shops was good exercise.
After that, we left for the dry fish market at Pilana Junction. I have never seen a store that offers dry fish at such a low price. Before meeting this place, we bought dried fish at a low price from a market in Midigama town, which is only ten kilometers away. We bought more quantity because the new place offers dry fish at a lower price than that.
After that we went to the vegetable market in Angulugaha area to buy fresh vegetables. It is located at a distance of only six kilometers. All types of vegetables are available in abundance, so anyone can easily get what they need. It should be mentioned that these vegetables are fresh and available at a low price. These days, vegetables with chemical fertilizers are sold in many shops for more profit. Some middlemen will do anything for more profit. But eating fresh and nutritious vegetables can add more energy to the body.
After buying the vegetables, I looked around a bit. The water level of the Angulugaha Oya, which transports the water needed for the rice fields in the Angulugaha area, has risen due to the rain. If the water level rises further, low-lying areas may be submerged and there may be a risk of flooding. I walked to see the sluice site and the beautiful surroundings. Even if the water level of the stream rises, the fertility of the paddy fields will increase through the activation of a water catchment area.

Let's hope that the water level does not rise so much that it becomes a serious problem. How wonderful to spend part of the day buying things this fresh, the first photos of the fish are enviable, they look excellent. May you enjoy a lot of healthy food during the week!
