MAcFiT Olympics: Day 11

Good Day,
All our Olympic events are near the medals phase. Let's review what has happened during the weekend.

Volleyball

Quarterfinals were played last Saturday. Two games had high scores and lots of intensity. The other two - well, the winners of Q2 and Q3 would have lost to the losers of Q1 and Q4...

Tennis

Semifinals Singles were played on Friday and Saturday. Team 3 had two wins and advance to the Final. Both captains decided to switch the default order, but it has played better for @merthin 's team.

Teams 1 and 3 need to play Doubles to decide the winner. The match will be played tomorrow (Tuesday).

Doubles

Team 1 (@bucipuci AND @krakonos) vs Team 5 (@new.things AND @pinkhub).

The sum of both players' scores counts. In case of a draw, the tie breaker is the sum of all scores, from Singles and Doubles.

Cycling

On August 3 the player with the lowest score was unexpectedly @fredkese. Previously, he had never been even close to elimination. But here just one bad day means game over.

4x100 Relay

This event is the most fun and engaging for me, but also the most difficult to maintain. We are getting close to finish line.

@davidthompson57 is the last runner of Team Blue. It will be exciting watching his race against Team Orange's @fredkese

Team Green had a change - @krakonos replaced @nabbas0786 due to the latter's inactivity. A penalty day (0) was inserted, but the team can continue the Relay.

For Team Orange, @fredkese - the last runner - is now on the track. If nothing unexpected happens, Team Orange and Team Blue will run for the gold.

Team Red have completed their 2nd handoff and @racibo has the baton now. Too bad for the team they didn't do the handoff one day earlier, @racibo had a terrific Saturday but rather mediocre Sunday...
