Ma3str0's Environment Cleanup Walk: Oct 19 2023

Ready or not, here I come..

-> from seeking out that which was once hidden.

Adventure afoot!

Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there. Today's environment cleanup walk, saw me plodding through dense bush; in the hope of spotting that which had no place being there, whilst at the same time being well out of view.

This large piece of weather damaged fabric, was found 'off the beaten track'. As soon as I picked it up, several smaller pieces seemed to break away. I tried my utmost to get to as many of them (the fragments) as possible, whilst at the same time being conscious of the dangerously isolated surroundings I was venturing through.

I was pleased to safely recover this battered can of deodorant. Any remaining contents therein, would most surely have been a fire hazard.

One less piece of horrible plastic to contend with. If I didn't venture so far out, then it may still have been there for many years to come.

This sun bleached plastic packaging, partly obscured from view by the established vegetation.. once contained uncooked pasta.

The large glass jar was in a precarious spot, whereby someone else potentially braving the unknown, could theoretically have stepped on it. Stoked to have rid the local wilderness of yet another dangerous hazard.

Aha.. another lone shoe! Well, a sandal to be precise. How random to keep finding footwear round these parts.

I tried to figure out the previous contents of this white plastic bottle. The label was very weathered, offering no further clue. So it could really have been anything, ranging from something as innocent as milk, all the way down to a harmful chemical perhaps.

This dirty cotton ball certainly didn't grow on any nearby vegetation. I was pretty grossed out by it.. wondering if it may have been used for any medical purpose. Good thing that I had a rubber glove on!

No idea what this weird metal item was. It had some weight to it as well, and a strange recessed hole on the one side.

Whilst revisiting my steps for the day (checking for anything which may have been missed).. I spotted a piece of cardboard near the pond, with writing on it - how random.

On my way to dispose of the rubbish collected, I was able to bag one last piece.. a plastic bottle located near the curb.

All the litter was safely emptied into a municipal bin - by the nearby park. Although the route taken today was extra challenging.. it was great knowing that so much progress has been made so far - in cleaning up the local environment.
