Ready or not, here I come..

Adventure afoot!

Every day I try to dress appropriately for the mission ahead. More often than not, however, I get something wrong in the equation. Today it was wearing a pair of tracksuit pants, and subsequently baking in the heat. That said, I never let my poor dress sense deter me from the ultimate goal - cleaning the planet, whilst getting fitter in the process!

There's an old saying to the effect that 'practice makes perfect'. Spotting litter is no different really. The more I do this, the more heightened my senses have become in isolating what shouldn't be there. First off today was some clear plastic caught in some wild grass.. the 'crinkly kind'.

You guessed it! Another lone shoe. I've lost count how many of these I've found so far. Well, that's one less for the environment to contend with.

This interesting plastic bottle seemed to have housed mayonnaise. When I picked it up, I could tell that there was actualy still some left inside. Baking in the sun like that.. this was surely a major health hazard!

Not to far from that find, I was able to pick up some cardboard takeaway bits. Wonder whether the mayonnaise had the same point of origination?

From the look of it, these serviettes appear to have been used. I find it curious, how some may be ok to clean there face.. but at the same time, leave trash in their wake. So what does that make them?

Check out how awesome these bright purple flowers were. Too bad the scene was being spoiled by this plastic rubbish. After I took care of it, the plants were back to showcasing their intrinsic beauty.

I can't imagine someone living in the bush purchasing 'julienne carrots'. Hmm.. probably originated from one of the other occupants in the neighbourhood then.

Some sort of old thick and weathered book/manual. It felt like cement when I picked it up. It was really heavy, with the pages fused.

This brown cardboard was almost perfectly camouflaged in the grass & sand. If I were to guess, then I'd say probably an unwound inner of a toilet roll.

Then came a debris field of paper - differing in age and source. The newspaper was pretty easy to pick up.. the other bits, however, proved more cumbersome.

The last item for the day was an ugly shard of glass hiding adjacent to some grass. This could be a real hazard to a potential jogger. At least that's now one less danger to worry about!

It was a tremendously successful day, with another full bag of rubbish extracted from nature! This in turn was emptied into a nearby municipal bin - ready for collection.
