This Sunday, I had an awesome activity planned with Hazem. We had decided to play tennis in Zaghouan, a city near my current location and where Hazem used to live. It seemed like a perfect opportunity to enjoy a day together and explore a new place. The previous day, Hazem and I arranged to meet at 9:00 AM, but unfortunately, I didn't keep my promise, hahaha. I'm really sorry, Hazem 🤭. I woke up at 8:00 AM, and by the time I was ready and left the house, it was already 9:00 AM. As a result, I ended up arriving at 10:10 AM, which was much later than planned. Hazem, being the understanding person he is, just smiled and patiently waited for me.Since we had planned to play tennis at 1:00 PM, we decided to spend the time exploring Zaghouan until then. Hazem, who knows the city well, took me around and showed me some of its beautiful and unique spots. Zaghouan turned out to be such a special place, with its blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. It was a city I hadn't explored much before, and I felt lucky to experience it with Hazem as my guide.

One of the things I learned about Zaghouan is that it's famous for Kaak Warka, a traditional Tunisian pastry. It's a delicate, ring-shaped cookie filled with almond paste and flavored with rose or orange blossom water. The pastry is light, soft, and absolutely delicious, making it a popular treat for special occasions like weddings, holidays, and family gatherings. I was amazed to discover that every part of the city seems to sell Kaak Warka, and Hazem, being so thoughtful, insisted on buying me some. It was a small gesture, but it made me smile, and I really appreciated it 😅.
Thank you, Hazem, my lovely mam. My family was so happy with the gift you brought for them, and it made me feel even more grateful for having such wonderful man in my life.

Our next stop was the shrine of Sidi Ali Azzouz, the resting place of Sidi Ali Azzouz, a highly respected saint in Tunisian culture. Shrines like this one hold great historical and religious significance, often becoming places of pilgrimage, prayer, and reflection. I had never visited a shrine before, so it was a very meaningful experience for me. Hazem was a bit surprised too, as he had never actually entered this shrine, even though he knew about it. It was one of those moments that made the day feel even more special and memorable.

After exploring the city, we went to a coffee shop that Hazem recommended. The place had a fantastic atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after our little adventure.

We decided to head to the tennis court while enjoying a casual walk.
By the time we reached the tennis court, we had to wait for the man who would open it. He finally arrived at 1:15 PM, gave us the tennis equipment, and we were ready to start. I have to admit, it was my first time playing tennis, so Hazem and I were both beginners. We had a lot of fun, even though the ball kept falling. But despite our inexperience, we enjoyed ourselves and laughed at how clumsy we were. It was a great outlet for both of us—especially after spending the morning walking and exploring.

After an hour and a half of playing, my shoulder began to hurt from overexerting myself. I had pushed too hard, and I started feeling tired, so we decided to stop. But Hazem, being the dedicated player he is, continued to play on his own, much to my amusement. Don’t ask me how he managed to keep going, hahaha 😅. He truly is the most persistent person I know!
When the man returned to the court, we decided it was time to leave. I was feeling physically tired but emotionally so happy from the entire day. Afterward, we went to a restaurant and had sandwiches, and we spent time watching a video we had made on the tennis court. We jokingly acted like professional tennis players, pretending to be Federer, Nadal, and Novak Djokovic. It was hilarious to see how much fun we were having, especially since we were so far from being pros, haha 😅🤭.

As the day came to a close, I felt a bit sad. I didn’t want to go home yet, and I knew I would miss Hazem so much. It was one of those perfect days that you wish could last longer. I took the minibus back home, and as soon as I arrived, the first thing I did was fall asleep. I was exhausted but so content.
Thank you, Hazem, for giving me such a wonderful and unforgettable day. I will always cherish it. I love you, my man!
