The most challenging week in 2025: Watching my dad battling for his life
From a simple X-ray appointment, into a series of 48 hours of nightmare and an ongoing week of hospital visits
This has been yet another traumatic time for my family as my dad suddenly went into a septic shock that was caused by p3nis (urination private part) trauma, causing uncontrollable bleeding that sent my dad vomiting all over with 90% of his lungs infected.
Being assured by the radiologist that the bleeding that caused by "some injury" during the procedure is normal, I sent my dad home to rest and resume rushing my work on Monday, thinking that the bleeding will eventually dry up though it is painful; but led to a 23 hours life and death battle for him.
Sometimes you cannot always deny that the "spiritual realm" doesn’t exist, because I find this was unusually uncomfortable when I first detect something was wrong, into a realisation that this is "an all-out war" battling for my dad's soul between the living and the dead.
I must thank the pastors and ministers, and my care-group members who stood in to pray the moment they saw the message of S.O.S for prayers sent way pass midnight when they woke up early in the morning.
One of them even came to help get my mom to the hospital when my dad was suffering high fever in the yellow (semi-critical) zone in the Emergency ward, and stayed on for me to send my mom home at almost 4am to rest and clean up the vomit splashes that was on me when my dad went into a septic shock.
The ordeal of waiting for him to wake up was intense, but truly thank God, by late morning my dad gained consciousness and once again endured much trauma and pain to have catheter procedure to help my dad to urinate automatically.
It was really hard to hear his groans in pain when he tried his very best to endure where his most intimate private part is being "poked" again to get it through.
The reason it is so painful is because with the absence of prostate gland (after the removal due to cancer), the p3nis will shrink slowly. Try poking a crumbled prune / date with a tiny rod skew, pretty sure it is hard to straighten it.
No matter how hard the first 48 hours were, the miraculous speeding recovery from a slump of "dead weight" to able to lift his butt up so that I can help put the adult diapers in cannot deny the glory of God’s hand upon my dad.
Each day we found new hurdles, and each new hurdle God remains faithful, strengthening my dad little by little, helping him with expanding his lungs little by little, until his lung capacity retaining oxygen saturation until above 94%, compared to 89% on Monday when he crashed into septic shock.
The miraculous acceleration of energy recovery for a frail body with just 1/2 of Essence of Chicken with Ginseng is yet another thing I know only God can do.
I will share more on how it all happened to my dad later.
Right now, we covet prayers that my dad can cross through. The infection is still there and still more test to catch all the bad bacteria.
