Leyanis Pérez ya no es la niña que yo conocí una día que ahora parece lejano, cuando su relación con los 14 metros era esporádica. Pero tiene la misma energía e irradia la misma luz.
Recuerdo que al finalizar aquella confrontación le pedí una foto y le pedí también no dejar de soñar.
Desde entonces Leyanis no ha parado de crecer, y tampoco nos ha dejado de ilusionar. Es una atleta diferente, porque vive el triple a plenitud, y te hace vivirlo con ella.
Ustedes la han visto, siempre tiene algo que ofrecer y cuando se le han enredado las cosas en la arena, tiene el aplomo de regalar una sonrisa.
La presencia y la actuación de Yulimar Rojas es tan brillante que encandila pero hemos de mantener la lucidez, y entender desde su génesis la escandalosa forma en que Leyanis Perez le ha competido en estos Juegos Centroamericanos. Se vienen curvas, no lo duden.
Yo, que nunca me he escondido para mostrar mi admiración por su forma de entender el deporte, vuelvo sobre lo mismo. Leyanis Perez es la estrella del equipo cubano actual y lo hermoso es que su imagen, cuando salta, es infinita. Ni siquiera ella misma sabe lo que es capaz de hacer o hasta donde será capaz de llegar.

A Liadagmis Povea hay que hacerle un monumento. Ella ve el mundo desde abajo pero no sé achica. El bronce 🥉 que sacó de la pista del Mágico González es enorme, cómo sus ganas y su voluntad. No sobran ahora mismo las mujeres en el mundo capaces de hacer 14.85m así, con tranquilidad . Y es cierto que Le ha tocado coexistir en tiempos gloriosos del triple salto pero se las ha ingeniado para escribir su propia historia.

Cuando todo esto estaba por comenzar dije que el triple era la prueba que yo quería ver. Hoy estoy satisfecha.

Como también he disfrutado el Atletismo. Greisy Roble, Yunisleydis de la Caridad García, Mario Díaz y Jorge Yadian Fernández, Rose Mary ALMANZA y Sahily Diago y Miguel Zamora han hecho historia con sus medallas en San Salvador. Hay mucho que decir de cada una: Las lágrimas de Rose Mary en un podio al que se ha subido tres veces en 9 años, la emoción de Roble al correr junto a Jasmine Camacho y/o la ilusión de Yunisleydis de la Caridad García que se ha llevado dos medallas en la velocidad así lo confirman.

Son luces por encima de las sombras, son pasos en un largo camino de regreso.
