My Actifit Report Card: December 21 2023
My son and I played an eighteen-hole disc golf course today. He won with a -4 score to my +3.
Part way through the course, I wanted to look for my lost Mantra disc that I had lost in a tournament a few weeks ago. I had searched for it with a friend before but had no luck. My son found the disc under some leaves in a short time. It was right where I thought it had gone but was barely visible. The sunlight reflected off the metal graphic design just right so he could find it. I was really happy to get it back.
On a seven hundred foot par five, I had a bit of trouble getting far enough down the fairway with my first two throws. I was kind of far away to get to the basket on my third throw, so I threw an understable distance driver really hard. I misjudged how much wind there was, and the disc turned hard and floated down into the deep, dark woods. We kind of knew where it went, but after searching for some time, we could not find it.
Later that day, I got a text message that someone had found the disc and turned it in at the Pro Shop for me. I was amazed at how quickly it was found. This is the second time that I have lost this particular disc on the very same par five hole and had it returned. I feel very lucky. I have a couple of other discs like the one I lost, but all three discs fly just a bit differently, and it sure is nice to get it back.

It sure was a wonderful day! The weather was very nice for this time of year and we were playing without our jackets in part of the round.
What a big change weatherwise from last year to this year, my friend!
Last year we had a northeaster blowing and the power was out for days with the snowstorm!
