My Actifit Report Card: September 24 2023

The tournament round today went fairly well. As typical, I scored four points worse than I did in an earlier practice round that I did this week. It was enough to cash some scrip so I shouldn't complain.

I really wish I could learn to score as well in a tournament as I do in a normal round. I think that will come with a bit more confidence. I know I can do a lot better. I just tend to throw too hard when I shouldn't and not take the opportunities to commit to throws when I should. On a plus side, I felt like I was putting a lot better than usual and only missed one close-range putt that I really could have normally made.

One of my cardmates told me that he had someone tell him to, "Never throw more than 80 percent power in a tournament." I think that is good advice, and I was guilty of throwing a bit too hard off the tee on a few holes today. With a bit more practice, I think I can make that extra distance that I want without pushing the throw so hard.

That pizza looks delicious… I do the same in golf… I swing way too hard, and end up with a sore back and pulled muscles… 80% is a good rule.

It really seems like a good rule to follow. I end up turning the disc too hard to the right on a backhand because it generally comes out on the wrong release angle on a full power throw. Getting the extra twenty or thirty feet is generally not worth it if you can't find your way into the fairway.

Throwing 80% might be good advice, and if needed you have an extra 20% edge!😄

The problem with throwing with over 80% power is that if something goes wrong you can find yourself in a nature appreciation moment in the deep dark woods pitching out to the fairway. Sometimes it is worth going for the birdie but if you get by without throwing too hard you are usually better off.

It really is the best experience that 80% is right and will certainly be an important lesson for others

The pizza looks very good and invites my appetite whether it is good to be consumed by a high blood pressure I want to feel the pizza

Eating too many refined carbs and sugars is not very good for me at this stage in life. (It is somewhat questionable at any age to eat too many refined carbohydrates.) I think that when you are younger and better able to deal with simple carbohydrates it is not as bad for you.

Likewise me, even though I'm still young, I don't fancy them. I can go a month without taking any. I do prefer natural food and the ones prepared at home. But once in a while, it could worth taking a taste of😊

Glad to hear you went through today's round of the tournament well even though you missed four goal points, I'm sure you will be able to overcome that problem, the most important thing is to always appear confident in every shot you make

I've never seen a pizza that looks like this, it looks like it's really delicious

It certainly was very delicious. It is even more delicious if you use a high-carb crust but unfortunately, it is not as good for me to eat at this stage.

Glad you did well in the tournament. I'm guessing it's easier to be relaxed when you are not competing, but I think you are right, doing better in tournaments will come in time.

Thank you. I am very gradually learning to relax but it has been a tough road so far. Maybe this coming Sunday I will do better at relaxing.

Old, joints hurt, and blood sugar levels are questionable... sucks to be me, lol. Anyhow maybe if I'm better once in a while I can afford to eat a high-carb pizza on occasion.
