My Actifit Report Card: April 22 2023
I spent some time looking around some of the old abandonded buildings near the disc golf course that I used to play back when my arm was feeling better. Doggie really enjoys walking around here. I think he's secritly happy that my arm is not feeling well because he gets to go on longer walks.
I'm not sure why they never chose to repurpose and upgrade the existing structures. Lots of the buildings look nice architecturally, and it seems wasteful that new buildings keep being made. Some of the buildings are still being used, but most of them are empty.
I also did a bunch of yard work today, clearing out more dead wood from the blackberry hedge and pulling weeds. It was the first day in a while when I made over 10,000 steps.

The buildings don't look too bad until you get a closer look:

Welcome back,I always appreciate your work .The famous said is old is gold.
A lot of the old builds are interesting around here. It would be fun to see inside but many of the buildings are locked up.
10k is the nice steps count that is recommended and you did well. I would like to know if these houses are vacated as these are quite old or people still live here. Undoubtedly the architectural design is very good and the first photo looks so great with the combination of beautiful sky. Happy weekend
Everything in the above photos was abandoned. There were some buildings being used on the right side of the road out of view in the pictures but the area was closed to the public. Happy weekend to you as well. 🙂
Your arm issue is not yet fixed properly and you are so active to make 10k activities and look at me, I'm absolutely fine physically and can't make even 7k activities. Your activity number inspiring me!
Your puppy is cute and I like him in pictures your share. I think some old buildings out there need to repair to look good architecturally but these left unused when it could be useful.
Good evening, hope your Sunday going to be great one. 🥂💝💗💐🐝
I have slowed down a lot while trying to heal my arm. I think walking is good for me so I will try to do a bit more of it. Have a nice day too. 🙂
Keep doing anything that will help you for quick recovery. I wish to see my friend more active and productive 💝🥂🫰🐝💐
Great job on your Actifit report card, lightsplasher! It's inspiring to see you pushing through your injury and still staying active with your furry friend. Your photos of the old buildings and your surroundings are really interesting, and it's great to see you taking care of your yard too. Thank you. I've been trying to heal up my arm but it has been a long process. I think it is good to try and keep active in other ways and walking seems to be the best exercise for me for now.
Old man chu always knows what to do
Yes keeping active is important it keeps you distracted from just thinking about the stuff.
Have a nice day

Looks like a very large complex, you would think in this day and age even if they had to spend a lot of money it would be cheaper to retrofit and repurpose this....🤔
I'm guessing that there are not a lot of businesses that need that kind of facility anymore. The place has a long interesting history. Building codes and the possibility of asbestos might be preventing anyone from thinking about repurposing it and it could be the tax laws and the economic outlook too. I'm not really sure but I would think it would be better environmentally to reuse the facility rather than clear out a new area and rebuild new buildings.
I never thought about the possibility of asbestos, that certainly would make it undesirable to re-purpose…😮
Sad it looks like a large complex !
Your doggie is too close to you he understands your quite good or bad feelings but I always pray for you may Almighty Allah heal your arm soon @lightsplasher
Thank you for your prayers. Doggie is very smart and spoiled. He doesn't listen too well but he is fun to go for walks with. I've been trying to train him but it is a slow process kind of like trying to heal my arm, lol.
display pictures of old buildings that look still very sturdy. have a great activity.
They would need a lot of work to repair and make it livable again. The construction at the time they were built was very sturdy.
You know all the secrets of your doggie because you spend a lot of time with your doggie.
Doggie looks very excited during swimming.
Walking a lot of steps are best for health and also Doggie like it.
Doggie does make a good companion for going walking. He gets really excited when he sees me getting ready to go and opening the garage door. Sometimes he tries to talk me into putting him in the car. I think he likes the longer walks rather than just doing the same old short walk around the house.
The views of Islamic buildings are really very good and I also really like the photos that you produce using your camera
I'm not sure if these were Islamic buildings, perhaps the architecture makes them look that way.
I always wonder about that too, why so many more buildings are built when there are so many that are being left to rot instead of being refurbished and used. I know at some point they become too rotted out, but look how many years it took before that happened, that someone could have turned it around while the basic structure was still good.
I'm glad you are still able to get out and work in the yard and take long walks. I'm sorry it seems to be taking so long for your arm to fully heal. I know that has to be annoying.
They are always building new buildings around here but there are so many older buildings that are vacant and empty. It makes me wonder what is going on but it must be easier to start from scratch rather than reuse something.
I think my arm has been the victim of a lifetime of accidents and bad posture. I'm trying to improve on the posture and am hopeful there will someday be a technological answer to the problem besides slicing me open, lol. Desk jobs can be hard on your posture because you are always hunched over and typing on the keyboard. (This reminds me that I should go do some other stuff now, lol.)
One time, maybe a year ago or a little more, I began to do movements I wasn't used too and worked deliberately on trying to correct my posture, but turns out, my body wasn't used to that good stuff and next thing I knew, a place in my neck started bothering me that had never bothered me before, so I quit all that good stuff and good posture and it got all better again. LOL !!! It must be too late for me to correct it. My body is used to how I am now. ;)
May your arm pain get fixed soon I always wish to God and I am very happy to see your daily activity report and am always inspired by your work.Thank you very much for presenting your activity report to us.
Thank you for your prayers. I'm making slow progress and I'm very hopeful that things will heal. I'm thankful that you are happy to see the activity reports.

such a nice day for you, of course today, yes I agree with your opinion about this building, in the first photo you can see the building is actually still very reusable, it just needs some rehabilitation to make it look better, and unfortunately some of these buildings are even abandoned just like that so it looks so old, and in your next photo it is clear that the windows are broken and some parts of the walls are cracked,
I see it looks like your dogie is very happy to enjoy the water
There are a lot of old abandoned buildings around here and some new construction. Somehow it is interesting to me to see the way abandoned buildings gradually change over the years.
looks very nice house texture in the picture you shared. that's a great picture that you present in your post today.
It is a very unique texture in the way it has weathered over the years. I thought the little tree growing on the rooftop was interesting too, perhaps its branches were rubbing on the wall.
Yes, it is true. quite interesting
