My Actifit Report Card: February 8 2023
I played a couple of nine-basket disc golf rounds with my friends this morning. We wanted to try out the new blue course that we will be playing in a tournament soon. It will be the first time the course has been used in a tournament so we are all pretty excited. It is going to take me some practice to get good at it, it is very heavily wooded with tight gaps and long holes.
I was struggling a bit because I forgot to pack my Deflector disc in my bag. It is kind of a mainstay in my forehand approach game and I felt lost in the woods without it. This got me thinking about getting another disc.
After we were done playing I went shopping for another Deflector disc as a backup. They didn't have any at the Pro Shop and it sounded like it would be weeks before they got any more in and none were on order. I decided to get a new Pyro disc instead. The flight numbers were very close to the Deflector's.
Pryro flight numbers: 5, 4, 0, 2.4 and Deflector numbers: 5, 3.5,0,4.
I figured that the Pyro might even be a bit more stable than my beat in _ Deflector_
My new Pyro disc:
I ended up playing another round of eighteen holes on the Red course and tested out the new disc. I ended up having a really good round at -1. The new disc flew wonderfully. It is slightly less stable and not quite as dumpy as my Deflector disc. So far I am liking it as well if not better than the Deflector. They are both great discs though.
The Pyro has some nice glitter sparkles on the edge and comes in Prism Proton plastic. It is a little more flashy looking and might be easier to see in the deep dark woods. I have been earning enough scrip from winning in the tournaments that it makes it a lot easier for me to buy new discs.

That's a cool disc! It looks like it's translucent and I like its light blue color of it. I just don't have an idea about the feel. What's the usual size of a disc? and what's the weight of each disc?
I wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase it but it looked so nice in the store that I tried it out. I've been guilty of having the look and feel of the disc sway my purchasing decisions lately. Both of my recent purchases I have been very happy with though.
The color will stay mostly the same and should be good for spotting it in various conditions. Some of the translucent discs are harder to spot if they are not brightly colored enough. When they age the get all scuffed up and don't reflect like they do when new and the color fades a bit. (Sometimes they look so nice when new that I am temped not to throw them and just put them out for display.)
The feel on the Pyro disc is really nice. The Prism Proton plastic feels wonderful in the hand and the workmanship is superb. (Sometimes discs have some flashing you need to sand off but this disc doesn't.) The Proton plastic is very durable and does not change much after a lot of wear. I'm expecting Prism Proton to be the same since the only change is the glittery metal flakes in the rim plastic. The disc is 14.5mm in rim width with a diameter a little bigger than a fairway disc around 21cm. This one's weight is 178 grams which seems about ideal for how I use this type of disc.

a game that has always been admired. and you always seem to enjoy it.
I have been having a wonderful time playing disc golf recently. I need to make sure I don't play too much though.
You seem to be enjoying the game of golf today, why hasn't the blue course been used for a tournament before? is it because it's just ready?
I don't really understand the flight numbers, do they have different stability when flying? and the color of your new disc is also very beautiful , so shiny it looks like glass
They have been working on completing the blue course for some time now. It is not an easy task to construct and maintain a disc golf course in the woods and there are several more holes in the works. A tournament usually takes at least 18 holes and it has only been recently that the blue course had nine holes playable. For the tournament we will be playing an additional nine holes on the red course.
The flight numbers are difficult to explain easily. They are a guild for seeing how a disc might fly but there are so many factors. When you understand the flight numbers it will let you know how a disc might fly for you. Disc stability is also difficult to explain and has a lot to with the flight numbers and the person throwing the disc.

Enjoy playing golf, it must be really fun playing with your friends, and your new Pyro Disk looks really cool.
I really like the way it looks but it will get scuffed up soon when I play with it. Discs usually start to fly better as you use them so it is kind of a trade off.
Hope you enjoy today game with your friend, looking pretty attractive golf disc.
Today I think I'm going to mostly rest - or at least that is what I probably should be doing. The looks of the disc really sold it on me and I'm very happy that it is working nicely. All the Midrange discs by MVP and Axiom have been winners for me so that helped too.
