My Actifit Report Card: January 25 2023
I played a difficult eighteen-hole disc golf course with a couple of friends today. I lost by a throw with the scores at +18, +19, and +29.
It was a fun round as it always is and great to be out playing with friends. It started with a bit of light rain but quickly cleared up. The tee pads were a little wet and slippery.
I was trying not to throw too hard and wanted to limit my movement on the tee pads. I've fallen throwing on wet tee pads and it is not much fun. I was also having some trouble with my shorter putts. I kept missing high and hitting the band. On an easy approach putt, I went a bit too far and left a difficult putt for bogey. I missed that and rolled down the hill taking an out-of-bounds penalty. I laid up the uphill approach and ended up taking a seven on a par three. It was not my best round on the course today but not too bad for trying not to throw too hard and taking it easy on my arm and back.
I'm feeling good but will likely rest again and not play disc golf tomorrow since I'm playing on Friday and have a tournament round on Sunday.

It's obviously cloudy on your spot today. Even so, you still managed to play a good game with that score. In every tournament that one has to go through, a good rest a day before is a "must" for your preparation. All the best for the coming tournament!

It sounds like you know or are learning your body limits and it is good to give yourself rest so that you will be in fine shape on the days it really counts.

Me too but this was a particularly brutal course. My personal best is a +10 and I keep trying to get into the single digits. I started out doing better than usual but could not keep that going. My friend who won the round, lost his "provisional" second throw on hole seventeen in the "valley of lost discs" which is too wet this time of year to even think about venturing into. He ended up playing his first throw out of a bramble patch. We didn't think we could even find or recover that first throw.

I'm glad to hear you're back playing golf and even though you didn't play your best golf today, and hopefully you'll have enough time to rest so you can play your best in Friday's tournament.
