My Actifit Report Card: July 5 2022
I played NSRA in the late afternoon and evening today. I usually like to play in the morning but a friend said they would be playing after work this week so I showed up. My friend did not show up though.
I was struggling a bit with keeping the disc in the fairway this evening. I ended up searching for discs a lot and found a nice one that I was able to get back to the owner. He was happy about getting it back.
I ended up with a +21 over par on the eighteen-hole course. I can usually do better than that but it is a tough course.
I found a DX Beast disc with no name on it yesterday and I wanted to try that out. It was 175 grams so I thought it might be stable enough to throw on hole two. Hole two is a kind of testing hole for me for discs I'm not sure I want that badly. I hesitate to throw my favorite discs here because they can get lost high in the trees. I usually don't lose a disc that is stable enough though. Unfortunately the Beast disc was not stable enough to hit the gap and it flipped up hard and headed into the trees. I did manage to get it back because it went all the way through the tree.
It was a bit of a headwind and that can make a disc turn harder than usual, so I tried it again on a few other throws. The disc did not make a good roller disc for me either and turned over too hard. I might have some use for it but something that is this understable is difficult to control. I have a couple of friends that might like it though.
I missed the line a little bit on this throw and almost threw it too hard into the rough:
This was about a three hundred-foot throw that I used my six-speed Crave disc for.
It ended up playing for an easy par but it made me worried about being able to recover the throw. I've had to search for discs that went just a bit farther forward or landed a few feet farther off the line.
