Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge with Back to Basics

Splinterlands on of the best card battle game on hive blockchain. This week BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge is Back to Basics. This challenge is easy and also requires some basic understanding of cards used in battle. In this ruleset units lose all abilities. Summoner effects are still active. As in this battle Monsters with magic attack are very helpful so I decided to use some strong magic attack monsters with high health. In this battle I used "Unicorn Mustang" as tank card having 10 health and three malee attack with void ability with some extra abilities like magic reflect and return fire. These two abilities adds on every monster card in this battle. In this battle I used four magic attack cards. This battle is high mana 50 so I decided to use some strong back line cards. This battle was dragon vs dragon summoners.

1. All Monsters have the Return Fire ability.

2. All Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability.

3. Monsters lose all abilities.

As battle was high mana so I decided to use some strong health cards as in this battle cards lose all abilities and also try to fill all spots. I decided to use some strong back line cards having magic attack ability. I used "Unicorn Mustang" as tank with 3 malee attack, 10 health and 4 speed. On 2nd position I used "Mycelic Slipspawn" two magic attack and 11 health and 3 speed. On 3rd position I used "Prismatic Energy" two magic attack and 10 health with 4 speed. On 4th position I used "Nectar Queen" 4 malee attack and 13 health with 4 speed. On 2nd last position I used Centauri Mage one magic attack and 9 health with 3 speed. On last position I used Tortisian Chief 2 magic attack and 5 health with 3 speed. In this battle all monsters got magic reflect and return fire ability. Although I brought magic team and magic reflect ability harm me but still I am very happy with my team and if my tank card survives then my other cards will destroy the enemy team monsters. Let’s discuss my team one by one.

Unicorn Mustang

I used Unicorn Mustang Rare earth Unit as a tank card. This card has 3 malee attack and 10 health with void ability. I used this card on tank position in all mana fights as this card is very helpful with void ability. This card is the best choice for tank card in all mana battles.

Mycelic Slipspawn

On 2nd position I used Mycelic Slipspawn Rare earth Unit with taunt and force field ability. I always use this card in all mana fights because of its taunt ability and 11 health. Hope this card could busy enemy's monster cards and my other cards eliminate enemies cards.

Prismatic Energy

On 3rd position I used Prismatic Energy Rare neutral Unit. This card has two magic attack and 10 health with magic reflect and void ability. I always used this card as my back line card as this card waste enemy magic one attack on every turn, very useful card in magic attack fight.

Nectar Queen

On 4th position, I used Nectar Queen Common earth Unit. This card has 4 malee attack and 13 health but this card's retaliate ability is very strong. So hope this card perform well and do maximum damage to enemy back line monsters.

Centauri Mage

On 2nd last position I used Centauri Mage Rare earth Unit. This card has one magic attack and 9 health with return fire ability. I always used this card as my back line card so this card reflect few enemy's ranged attacks.

Tortisian Chief

On last position, I used Tortisian Chief Epic neutral Unit. This card has 2 magic attack and 5 health but this card's tank heal ability is very strong. So hope this card perform well and heal my tank card on every turn.

My bad luck that in this battle my all monster card lose all these abilities and they all have only two abilities magic reflect and return fire but still I hope my team perform well in this battle.

So my strategy in this battle was very simple as in this battle I mostly rely on my magic attack monster cards. I used "Unicorn Mustang" as my tank card with strong health and hope this card reflect enemy's magic attacks and also do one damage on every turn. If my tank card survives some rounds then hope my other cards could eliminate enemy's tank card. I think in this battle my Nectar Queen card is very important as I place this card in center as my 2nd strong tank card. So if my enemy eliminate my starting cards then Nectar Queen became my tank card. So my all hoped lies on "Nectar Queen" in this battle. Also hoped that my monster cards could not miss any attack and did proper damage to enemy back line monsters. Overall my entire back line cards did 8 magic and 4 malee attack damage to enemy team. This battle lasted for 5 rounds.

My strategy paid off and my all cards performed well. Our today's battle challenge with "Back to Basics" successfully completed. In this battle my enemy also brought a strong magic attack dragon team but magic reflect ability worked well for me. I liked this new change of weekly battle challenge from monsters to ruleset, so we can learn some new methods how to tackle enemy in any specific ruleset. You can watch this battle on My Battle link.
