Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge with Melee Mayhem

Splinterlands one of the best card battle game on hive blockchain. This week BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge is Melee Mayhem. This challenge is easy and also requires some basic understanding of cards used in battle. In this ruleset melee units can attack from any position. Prime use case for melee units with Bloodlust. Abilities take precedence where targeting is concerned. As in this battle Monsters with malee attack are very helpful so I decided to use some strong malee attack monsters with high health. In this battle used "Baakjira" as tank card having 12 health with slow / strengthen ability with some extra abilities like scattershot and void. This ability adds on every friendly monster. In this battle I used one taunt ability card and one opportunity and one double strike ability card. This battle was high mana 50 so I decided to use some strong back line cards. This battle was water vs water summoners.

1. All Monsters have the Scattershot ability.

2. Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.

As battle was high mana so I decided to use some extra abilities cards and also try to fill all spots. I decided to use some strong back line cards having opportunity and double strike ability. I used "Baakjira" as tank with no attack, 12 health and slow / void ability. On 2nd position I used "The Kraken" 4 malee attack and 14 health with taunt and enrage ability. On 3rd position I used "Diemonshark" 3 malee attack and 8 health with trample / enrage ability. On 4th position I used "Deeplurker" 4 malee attack and 7 health with opportunity ability. On 2nd last position I used Coastal Sentry 4 malee attack and 7 health with double strike ability. On last position I used Venari Wavesmith 2 magic attack and 4 health with protect ability, so every friendly monster gain +2 armor. I am very happy with my team and if my tank card survives then my other cards will destroy the enemy team monsters. Let’s discuss my team one by one.

Baakjira

I used Baakjira Legendary water Unit as a tank card. This card has no attack and 12 health with void, slow and strengthen ability. I used this card on tank position in all mana fights as this card is very helpful with all these abilities. This card is the best choice for tank card in high mana battles.

The Kraken

On 2nd position I used The Kraken Legendary water Unit with taunt, demoralize and enrage ability. I always use this card in all mana fights because of its all abilities and high health. Hope this card could distract enemy cards and my other cards eliminate enemy's card quickly.

Diemonshark

On 3rd position I used Diemonshark Rare water Unit. This card has 3 malee attacks, 6 shields and 8 health with trample and enrage ability. I always used this card as my back line card as this card eliminate enemy cards quickly.

Deeplurker

On 4th position, I used Deeplurker Common water Unit. This card has 4 malee attack and 7 health but this card's opportunity ability is very strong. So hope this card perform well and do maximum damage to enemy back line monsters.

Coastal Sentry

On 2nd last position I used Coastal Sentry Common water Unit. This card has 4 malee attack, two shiled and 7 health with double strike ability. I always used this card as my back line card so this card does double damage to enemy's card.

Venari Wavesmith

On last position, I used Venari Wavesmith Rare water Unit. This card has 2 magic attack and 4 health but this card's protect ability is very strong. So hope this card perform well and do maximum damage to tank card and enemy monster cards.

So my strategy in this battle was very simple as in this battle I mostly rely on my opportunity and taunt ability cards. I used "Baakjira" as my tank card but I also placed "The Kraken" on 2nd position as my 2nd tank card. I hope that my enemy busy attacking on The Kraken so my other cards gets some chance to eliminate enemy's back line cards. If my tank card survives some rounds then hope my other cards could eliminate enemy's back line monsters quickly. My taunt and opportunity ability cards are very strong so they can do some damage to enemy back line monsters cards. I think in this battle my taunt ability card could performed well. Also hoped that my cards could not miss any attack and did proper damage to enemy back line monsters. Overall my entire back line cards did 2 magic and 19 malee attack damage to enemy team. This battle lasted for 3 rounds.

My strategy paid off and my all cards performed well. Our today's battle challenge with "Melee Mayhem" successfully completed. In this battle my enemy brought a strong water magic team. Thanks to "The Kraken" and taunt ability that my enemy busy attacking this card my other card eliminate strong magic back line cards quickly. I won this battle in 3rd round easily. I liked this new change of weekly battle challenge from monsters to ruleset, so we can learn some new methods how to tackle enemy in any specific ruleset. You can watch this battle on My Battle link.
