Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge with Briar Patch

Splinterlands one of the best card battle game on hive blockchain. This week BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge is Briar Patch. This challenge is easy and also requires some basic understanding of cards used in battle. In this ruleset all units receive the Thorns ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that use melee attacks receive damage back. Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up. Melee attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from thorns. As in this battle Monsters with malee attack are very helpful so I decided to use some malee attack monsters with high health and also used healer card. In this battle I used "Baakjira" as tank card having 12 health with void / slow and strengthen ability with some extra ability like thorn. This thorn ability adds on to every friendly monster. In this battle I used one oppurtiunity ability card and one tank healer ability card. This battle was low mana 25 so I decided to use some strong back line cards. This battle was water vs death summoners.

1. All Monsters have the Thorns ability.

As battle was low mana so I decided to use some extra abilities cards and also try to fill all spots. I decided to use some strong back line cards having opportunity and slow ability. I used "Baakjira" as tank with no malee attack, 12 health and void / slow and strengthen ability. On 2nd position I used "Demented Shark" one attack and 6 health with inspire ability so every friendly monster increase one malee attack . On 3rd position I used "Crustacean King" no attack and 3 health with tank heal ability. On 4th position I used "Isgald Vorst" 2 malee attack and 4 health with opportunity and bloodlust ability. On 2nd last position I used Creeping Ooze one malee attack and one health with slow ability, so reduce one speed of every enemy's monster card. On last position I used a filler cardFurious Chicken one malee attack and one health to waste few enemy's attack. I am very happy with my team and if my tank card survives then my other cards will destroy the enemy team monsters. Let’s discuss my team one by one.

Baakjira

I used Baakjira Legendary water Unit as a tank card. This card has no attack and 12 health with void and slow and strengthen ability. I used this card on tank position in all mana fights as this card is very helpful with slow and strengthen ability. This card is the best choice for tank card in low mana battles.

Demented Shark

On 2nd position I used Demented Shark Common water Unit with inspire ability. I always use this card in all mana fights because of its inspire ability which increase one malee attack to all friendly monster cards. Hope this card could perform well in this battle.

Crustacean King

On 3rd position I used Crustacean King Common water Unit. This card has no attack, one shield and 3 health with tank heal ability. I always used this card as my back line card as this card heal tank health on every turn.

Isgald Vorst

On 4th position, I used Isgald Vorst Common water Unit. This card has two malee attack, 3 shield and 4 health but this card's opportunity and blood lust ability is very strong. So hope this card perform well and do maximum damage to enemy back line monsters.

Creeping Ooze

On 2nd last position I used Creeping Ooze Common neutral Unit. This card has one malee attack and one health with slow ability. I always used this card as my back line card in low mana battles as this card fill the spot and also reduced one speed off all enemy's monster cards.

Furious Chicken

On last position, I used Furious Chicken Rare neutral Unit. This card has no attack and one health this is a filler card. So hope this card perform well and waste few enemy's attack.

So my strategy in this battle was very simple as in this battle I mostly rely on my opportunity and tank heal cards. I used "Baakjira" as my tank card, very powerful card with 12 health and slow and strengthen ability. If my tank card survives some rounds then hope my other cards could eliminate enemy's back line monsters. My tank heal and opportunity ability cards are very strong so they can do some damage to enemy back line monsters cards and also heal my tank card card. I think in this battle my healer card performed well and hoped "Crustacean King" could heal my tank card on every turn. Also hoped that my cards could not miss any attack and did proper damage to enemy back line monsters. Overall my entire back line cards did 3 malee attack damage to enemy team. This battle lasted for 7 rounds.

My strategy failed in this battle although my all cards performed well but only one card created a difference. Our today's battle challenge with "Briar Patch" not completed successfully. In this battle my enemy brought a strong death team but only difference was a gladiator card Crustacean King. I eliminated all enemy's card but this card performed well and win this battle in 7th round. I liked this new change of weekly battle challenge from monsters to ruleset, so we can learn some new methods how to tackle enemy in any specific ruleset. You can watch this battle on My Battle link.
