Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge with Up Close and Personal

Splinterlands on of the best card battle game on hive blockchain. This week BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge is Up Close and Personal. This challenge is easy and also requires some basic understanding of cards used in battle. In this ruleset only units with melee attacks can be used. Use of Thorns and Demoralize ability monsters card useful in this ruleset to counter melee attack monsters. Units with 2 types of attacks (including melee) can be used. As in this battle Monsters with malee attack are very helpful so I decided to use some malee attack monsters with high health. In this battle I used "Unicorn Mustang" as tank card having 10 health with void ability with extra ability like opportunity. These ability adds on with every friendly monster. In this battle I used melee attack monster card with high shield option so I get some extra protection. This battle was high mana 55 so I decided to use some strong back line cards. This battle was water vs dragon summoners.

1. All Monsters have the Opportunity ability.

2. Only Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles.

3. Monsters lose all abilities.

As battle was high mana so I decided to use some high malee attack monster cards and also try to fill all spots. I decided to use some strong back line cards having opportunity ability. I used "Unicorn Mustang" as tank with 3 malee attack, 10 health and void ability. On 2nd position I used "Pelacor Mercenary" 3 malee attack, one shield and 10 health with heal and flying ability. On 3rd position I used "Goblin Mech" 4 malee attack, 5 shield and 7 health with piercing ability. On 4th position I used "Legionnaire Alvar" 3 malee attack, 8 shield and 6 health with void armor / giant killer ability. On 2nd last position I used Nectar Queen 4 malee attack and 13 health with flying / retaliate ability. On last position I used Rexxie 5 malee attack and 6 health. I am very happy with my team and chose some high malee attack monster card with very useful abilities but my bad luck that monsters lose all abilities in this battle. So only ability monsters have is opportunity. In this battle if my tank card survives then my other monster cards will destroy the enemy team monsters. Let’s discuss my team one by one.

Unicorn Mustang

I used Unicorn Mustang Rare earth Unit as a tank card. This card has 3 malee attack and 9 health with opportunity ability. I used this card on tank position in all mana fights as this card is very helpful with void ability. This card is the best choice for tank card in high mana battles.

Pelacor Mercenary

On 2nd position I used Pelacor Mercenary Common earth Unit with opportunity ability. I always use this card in all mana fights because of its heal abilities and 10 health. Hope this card could survive and stay strong as my 2nd tank card monster card.

Goblin Mech

On 3rd position I used Goblin Mech Common neutral Unit. This card has 4 malee attacks, 5 shield and 7 health with opportunity ability. I always used this card as my back line card as this card eliminate enemy weaker cards first.

Legionnaire Alvar

On 4th position, I used Legionnaire Alvar Legendary neutral Unit. This card has 3 malee attack, 8 shield and 6 health but this card's opportunity ability is very strong in this battle. So hope this card perform well and do maximum damage to enemy back line monsters.

Nectar Queen

On 2nd last position I used Nectar Queen Common earth Unit. This card has 4 malee attack and 13 health with opportunity ability. I always used this card as my tank card but in this battle I placed this card on 2nd last position and hope this card do maximum damage to enemy monster cards.

Rexxie

On last position, I used Rexxie Common earth Unit. This card has 5 malee attack and 6 health but this card's opportunity ability is very strong in this battle. So hope this card perform well and do maximum damage to enemy weaker monster cards.

So my strategy in this battle was very simple as in this battle I mostly rely on my opportunity ability cards. I used "Unicorn Mustang" as my tank card so hope this cards stay strong and also do some extra damage to enemy with its opportunity ability. If my tank card survives some rounds then hope my other cards could eliminate enemy's back line monsters. My opportunity ability cards are very strong with massive malee attack. I think in this battle my monster cards with shield are very important and hope these card waste some enemy attacks. Also hoped that my cards could not miss any attack and did proper damage to enemy back line monsters. Overall my entire back line cards did 21 malee attack damage to enemy team. This battle was lasted for 8 rounds.

My strategy did not work in this battle although my all cards performed well but my enemy's team combination was very good and worked well in this battle. Our today's battle challenge with "Up Close and Personal" not completed successfully. In this battle enemy brought a strong water monster team with high malee attack options and Summoner also increase one malee attack and one speed to all enemy monsters cards. So, in this battle my enemy's team monsters speed played a crucial rule and I miss few important attacks and lost this battle in 8th round. I liked this new change of weekly battle challenge from monsters to ruleset, so we can learn some new methods how to tackle enemy in any specific ruleset. You can watch this battle on My Battle link.
