Alright, I've finished sulking now. Sort of. And here we are in the middle of a 2 week winter break! Brendan Rodgers will be spending the time working hard, trying to find something else to moan about!

Anyway there's still plenty of football around, especially over in Africa where the African Cup of Nations is taking place and which I've been keeping a look out for. I see we will have many disappointed players here after a weekend which saw the highly fancied Nigeria get dumped out of the tournament by Tunisia. The Super Sparrows had been the only team to win all three group games but it counted for nothing!

We're going to feature the the semi-finals this weekend but for now, we'll stick to the Championship and the game between...

After a perfect start to the season, West Brom have dropped off the top and now sit rather precariously just 2 points into the play-off places. A win is desperately needed.

Alex Mowatt is back after suspension and Semi Ajayi will be straight back into the squad after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations due to Nigeria being dumped out but sadly, new 7m signing, Daryl Dike is out for a few weeks after doing his hamstring in his debut in the 3-0 win over Peterborough at the weekend. Another result in that vein wouldn't go amiss!

As for Preston, its a season of mid-table mediocrity. Brad Potts is expected to return from injusry and there may be a debut for striker Cameron Archer who has come in on-loan from Aston Villa. Hardly news to set the world alight and probably a good indication of how their season will continue to petre along!

The Small Print

In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. The bonus will be added to any winnings ONLY if Leeds United win and/or Man U lose and all pay-outs will never exceed 50% of post-pay-out. Other bonuses are paid out at my discretion.

On Saturday, our featured game was Southampton v Man City which ended in a 1-1 draw, Walker-Peters scored the first-goal of the game for the Saints. Surely no one predicted that?
Well not the first goal-scorer, but step up to the podium @tokutaro22 who correctly predicted the scoreline and walks off with 10500 tokens! Leeds..l..o....s......t and Scum won so no bonus but a fine achievement! Well done mate :-)
