Postcards from Thailand #60: Bugged Out
I have absolutely no idea what this fly is, but at around 2cm in length, he was quite a big one!
The colours are beautiful and he(?) sat there for around half an hour with his abdomen bouncing up and down against the floor, looking likenhebwas trying to hump it!
This is obviously some sort of Cricket or grasshopper but what genus, again I know not but also very colourful compared to the usual plain brown ones I see everyday.
As for butterfly's, I see many fluttering around the house everyday, but oddly, I don't think I've ever seen two the same!
In further news, the new retaining wall is coming on nicely...
It's designed to stop the run-off of sand that was back-filled around the house and is now slowly creating a slope in the back garden, as you can see from the photo.
And that was my day. A bit of gardening, a bit of housework, maths tutoring and admin for the clinic. Very little time for anything else but I'm determined this time to manage my time better to get a post out each day.
Hope everyone is healthy and happy.
Love and best wishes from Koh Samui, Thailand.
Martin
