Postcards from Thailand #46: Wind of Change
Don't worry. It's dead. It wasn't actually dangerous when it was alive but something still troubles me...
I woke up yesterday morning to find this rather common forest scorpion dead in the middle of the lawn.
Now, during the Cold War of the 1980s, we lived with the ever-present danger of a nuclear holocaust that could have wiped out the entire human race. At that time, every schoolkid would have known that one of the only creatures to survive would be scorpions...
The point is, this scorpion, that could happily live through a nuclear onslaught, couldn't manage to survive a quick, midnight ramble across my lawn.
Whatever did kill it, I really don't want to meet!
Just a little report today but I hit 10k steps and deservedly so. For gardening in 35c heat, I deserve a medal.
