El 6 – 1 es prueba de que Carlos fue quien mandó, con otro par de roturas de servicio y en la tercera vuelta, aunque Alcaraz inicia con otro quiebre, pudo recuperarse de los fieros ataques de un Dusan herido, que luchaba por seguir en competencia; el serbio quebró por primera vez y de manera consecutiva, para tomar la delantera. Pero el nacido en El Palmar no se rendiría tan fácilmente.
El joven de 18 años, estaba dispuesto a terminar el partido en la cancha 1573 y rompe en el onceavo game, sacando para el partido y demostrando su fortaleza física y mental.
