The controversial fight between Saul Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant
This Saturday night boxing fans will be able to enjoy a fight of possibly the best boxer in the world right now, Saul Alvarez.
The fight seems to have raised a lot of expectations, especially in the Mexican and American public, which is the one that mostly consumes pay-per-view or PPV.
The fight will take place at the Mgm grand in Las Vegas, a place where mythical boxing fights have taken place, Mexicans hope that their representative can come out with his fists raised high this Saturday night.
The fight has a lot of relevance since no less than four belts in the 76 kg category will be in dispute: those of the World Boxing Confederation (WBC), the World Boxing Association (WBA), the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF).
However, for "Canelo" it seems that there are no rivals, as he has beaten all the fighters he has faced and has won a good number of fights in a row.
The last time Saul Canelo lost was to the greatest boxing fighter of the last generation. He has only one loss to Floyd Maywheather to his credit, just a small blemish on his immaculate boxing career.
The real question that comes to my mind is if this guy is a match for Canelo? Who has beaten every fighter he has been put in front of.
I am not a fan of the Mexican, who I think was a product of the Mexican TV stations that had praised and exalted him and created an image for him in the media. However, we must recognize that Canelo's punch is worthy of a gladiator, one punch from Canelo and you can restart your life.
Caleb Plant, who is he, where did he come from? I'm not following much boxing to tell you the truth, for reasons I've explained before and won't repeat. But I for one have never heard of Caleb.
But hey, he's a guy who has made his career mostly as an amateur, and from a very young age, since he was eight years old. As an amateur, Caleb stands out and has fought a total of 97 fights. As a professional he has not fought anyone who is well known, so far.
Yesterday's weigh-in was pretty heated as when the two athletes were face to face they started saying things to each other that neither could stand and the shoving and punching came from both of them. I don't know if this was to add excitement to the fight or if it was true and not acted out.
Canelo came out to say that Caleb had mentioned his mother and therefore could not stand what the American had said to him.
Can Caleb stand up to Canelo and I ask again with what weapons can he hurt Saul? The Mexican has that fierce grit that usually characterizes Mexican boxers, I can honestly only see the gringo with his hands up tonight if he tries to emulate what Floyd did against Saul, hit and run around the ring.
The Money Bag
It must be said that Canelo is the biggest star in boxing today and that almost everyone wants to see the tapatío, Canelo is a money making machine that's the truth.
For this fight Canelo will add to his net worth a fixed amount of around 35 million dollars plus added to what is added by the pay-per-view the Mexican could reach 140 million dollars tonight, which do not seem crazy numbers.
The American will have a wall in front of him and Canelo is physically smaller but in order to get the victory a miracle will have to happen.
Canelo will win tonight, place your bets.

I don't rate Canelo as he has been caught doping twice in the past and no doubt is still doping.
Do you think Canelo will continue to have problems with the doping issue?
Once a doper always a doper for the most part I'd say...
to be fair they're all doped, some are just better at not getting caught!
Ya, I feel lots of single player sports are riddled with doping. Cycling, swimming, boxing to name a few..
I actually wanted to do a post about it, I truly believe that all the anti doping organisations worldwide a just here for image, and everyone is doped, with state of the art untraceable shit!
There is plenty of it going on for sure. An Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan had a good gag about it.
Hahaha hilarious lad thanks for sharing

I did not watch the fight, just the highlights later on, Alvarez dominated Plant. Alvarez is now the best boxer today.
Four belts on offer here, I might have to tune in for this bout... You've sold it to me :)
Hahaha that's a fun one!
Canelo is a beast though, the best in the world for a reason, we can't deny it!
