Exploring Opportunities On Hive | My GLX Investment Journey

When I ventured into the world of Hive (again) after a quite long hiatus. One thing that excited me to come back is exploring opportunities and when I got the chance being bumped by a content that talks about Genesis League Sports, I immediately knew this is something that I'd like to venture and spend my time in.

I decided to take a leap and took some time to grasp the overall context of the game. This is actually the second time I've read a whitepaper, the first one was Axie Infinity whitepaper. It took me a couple of hours and a couple of re-reads on some critical information that I hardly able to grasp. The numerous factors to consider to becoming certain in increasing your chances of winning challenged me to battle the best of the best once this game is released.

Guess what - I invested, and I'll tell a good story below.

The game is not yet released as its phase is currently on phase 1 - 500,000 packs are available to be purchased. If you want to know more about the game, you can check the white paper here.

As I mentioned, I invested heavy in this game even though the game is not yet released. There were a couple of factors that pushed me to trust the game. But before that, here's the story of my purchases in packs.

I took advantage of the presale bonus purchase. If you check their website shop, they are selling one pack for $5 but they offer special packages.

If you purchase 100 packs, you'll get 10% additional bonus packs. In this promo, your $500 purchase will give you 110 packs.
If you purchase 500 packs, you'll get an additional 15% more bonus packs. Your $2500 purchase will give you 575 packs.
If you purchase 2,000 packs, you'll get an additional 20% more bonus packs. Your $100,000 purchase will give you 2,400 packs.

So I purchased the 100 packs (+10%) at $500. Yes, I put some of the savings I made in the corporate world & some of my savings from the Axie Infinity game. It was not $500 at all, it was actually around $420 because that time Hive price was dumping and the site were not updating the updated amount of Hive. So 1,002 Hive was only worth around $420 when I purchased it. An $80 savings was great! I purchased that $80 into another crypto investment and I'd like to share my crypto investment this November on my next posts.

What were my Reasons?

Wondering why I put $500 into a game that hasn't been released yet? Well here are two important reasons:

The company that built this game is the same company that built one of the most famous and successful game in crypto - Splinterlands.

The level of trust was never a questions when I saw this on their official website. That gives me confidence that I'd like to "give it a try". Being an early investor of a promising game will probably give you fortune if it succeeds.

Trying to take advantage of the Pack staking feature (soon)

Reading on the whitepaper, staking packs will make me be part of receiving regular airdrops of GLX tokens - the capped token of the GLS ecosystem. It is rewarded only for high-ranking matches and competitions.

I will be part of the users who will be given a share of the 15 million worth of GLX given to users. 7.5 million GLX will only be airdropped to presale 1 pack owners who are able to stake their packs and another 7.5 GLX will be airdropped to presale 1 & presale 2 pack owners who are able to stake their packs.

The team is working very hard to deliver the pack-staking feature within this month. They mentioned in the the announcement section of their discord server. You can join the server if you want to learn more about the game and have conversation with soon-to-be Genesis League Goals players.

My Plan

My plan is very simple and clear. Stake my 110 packs purchased and take advantage of the pack-staking GLX rewards soon and while waiting for the game to be launched, I'll re-read the whitepaper and study the game more.

Then once I receive GLX tokens, it will then be re-staked to receive more GLX tokens via another staking feature. Then compete with the best players of the game very soon.
