My Actifit Report Card: April 6 2025 - AI Will Solve Aging
I have been subscribed to Dave (David Shapiro) on YouTube for years. He systematically and logically makes the case for the things he sees AI doing in the near future. Dave is super intelligent and has kind of a Sheldon Cooper or Mister Spock persona which I like.
Today I found his video from 4 days ago with 32K views about how AI can supercharge aging research.
First Dave defines terms. For example, Longevity Escape Velocity is the time is takes to add a year to your life span.
Next he talks about things AI is actually working on already.
Then Dave talks about things already done in Mice to extend their life span from 20% to over 100%.
Next he talks about things that already are being tried and work on humans.
Then he moves to the ways AI can help in the future.
Next Dave talks about how once human anatomy is fully understood, it can be simulated and various proposed interventions can be first simulated before actually tried on people.
Second to last, Dave talks about what you'll experience if you are interested in increasing your life span. He goes over what people do now, to what is coming sooner and then later.
Finally Dave talks about barriers to aging research and implementation which is mainly due to our human psychology and sociology.
This is a really educational 29 minute video and you should watch it like your life depends on it, 'cause it kinda does!

My Activity
for today was mainly just the nightly walk that I do just about every day. Even in the rain. It wasn't raining when I went out but it started less than half way through, but I kept walking. I ended up with 8K.
I also climbed 41 stairs that I met along the way. And before my shower I did 25 pushups.
