My Actifit Report Card: March 18 2025 - X still Rocks
YouTube is showing me older bands that still Rock lately. Today they recommended I watch a video from last summer from 80s rockabilly punk band X. They are a 4 piece from LA who had a few hits back in the day including their cover of Wild Thing. We have a female singer and 3 guys on guitars and drums.
The song we'll hear is called Ruby Church and it's from their ninth record. It got 94K views!
It starts off sounding like The Ramones. But then they settle into their rockabilly hard rock sound that they were known for. Sounding and looking good for a band started in the late 70s who found some fame in the early 80s.

Breathless
Back in '83 there was a popular remake movie called Breathless starring Richard Gere and French actress Valérie Kaprisky, seen in the thumbnail for the video. There wasn't an inch of her that wasn't shown in this star crossed lovers film that was rated R. This video shows G rated clips from the movie Breathless, which was a remake of a 1960 French movie. The song Breathless was originally done by Jerry Lee Lewis in the late 50s! X does a manic high energy punkish version of it. Of course Jerry Lee's version was pretty fast and manic itself!

My Activity
was pretty rocking today! Almost 13K, oh yeah!
I was restless and moving around the house today as I got various chores done.
At night I took a fairly long walk in mid 50s temperature. I did not see the moon, but I did see the Hunter constellation with Orion's belt clearly visible. It's another thing out in space that we all share on Earth. People have been looking up at the moon and star patterns like Orion for thousands of years. We have a legacy; each and every one of us humans are part of it.

I'm not aware of X but I'll check on it. They seemed had limited mainstream success outside America.
