The build-up to what's expected to be an intense game between Liverpool and Manchester City on 10th March is already hitting the airwaves. I've been impatiently waiting for that game because I know it's a game that will play a big part in deciding who will have a bigger advantage in the tight EPL title challenge.

While I look forward to welcoming Manchester City to Anfield on Sunday, we still had an Europa League fixture to go through tonight against Sparta Prague. This is by all means a "must-win game" and I expected Liverpool to win properly so we won't have too much to worry about when we welcome them to Anfield, next week.

This doesn't in any way suggest that I'm looking down on the opponent. Nah! It's just hard to place them in the same category as Manchester City. Interestingly, the game turned out to be a very inspiring win for Liverpool.

Sparta Prague 1 - 5 Liverpool Fc

Liverpool kicked off the game with an early goal in the 5th minute. The goal came from a tackle on Macca in the opponent's box and Macca also got the job of burying the goal. He stepped up, took the chance, and put Liverpool ahead.

It's always good to get an early goal in a football game. It gives you the time to relax a bit without being pressured by any need to break the deadlock. Liverpool probably took the "relax a bit" part too far. Sparta Prague pressed hard, broke into Liverpool's defense a couple of times, and found themselves in 1v1 positions against Kelleher.

To be fair, Liverpool would have conceded 3-4 goals in the first half of the game, but Kelleher wasn't going to let that happen under his watch. He saved us a bunch of time and successfully kept a Clean Sheet in the first half of the game.

While Kelleher was doing his job of making sure that Liverpool's goalpost was impregnable, Darwin Nunez was tearing up the opponent's net with bangers. He scored two goals in the first half of the game to make the scoreline 0 - 3 in favor of Liverpool.

The Second Half...

The second half of the game was dramatic. We decided to start resting a couple of players while giving others a chance to warm up. Bradley came on for Liverpool, but he was quite unfortunate with his first touch in the game. It turned out to be an own goal. Even though Liverpool was already ahead, the lad felt gutted about the own goal.

Things stabilized soon enough as Luis Díaz scored the 4th goal for Liverpool. The goal took a deflection, but all accolade goes to Diaz for the job well done. Mo Salah came on and also got himself on the score sheet, but the goal got ruled out as an offside. I would reserve my sentiments about the controversy regarding the cancellation of that goal. The final goal of the match was scored by Szoboszlai in the 90+4 minute of the game.

The boys did really well and they deserve their flowers. It's interesting to see how our game against Manchester City will turn out to be.
