Liverpool let themselves down in Merseyside Derby.

For the record, this post was drafted in real-time while watching the games.

Four games were played in the English Premier League tonight and since Liverpool also had a game, that was the game that got most of my attention. Manchester United's game was also being displayed and the game had a lot of twist and turn. Haha. Let's get into each of the games;

Everton vs Liverpool

Liverpool started from the opening minutes to drag themselves through the mud. Imagine gifting a penalty to Everton in the 5th minute of the game. The penalty was given by onfield referee, but the ruling had a lot of controversy. It was subsequently reviewed for offside and Liverpool were lucky in that moment. Offside was given and the penalty got ruled out.

Just when you expect Liverpool to be more careful, they sat back and gifted Everton a goal in a merseyside derby. That's really something that shouldn't be happening. That first goal was a defensive disasterclass from Liverpool. The goal got reviewed for possible offside but was awarded after a var check.

With 15 minutes remaining in the first half, Liverpool started showing more intensity. A whole lot of chances were created and each of our attacking players had good goalscoring opportunities. Salah, Nunez and Diaz got really good passes but couldn't find the back of the net with each attempt. It was a pain to watch.

Second Half...

This second half is already looking like more of a disaster than the first half. Can you imagine Liverpool moved from dusting clubs in European nights to losing a merseyside derby before an hour mark in Goodison Park. This is awful. Seems like we are doing a good job of shooting ourselves in the leg while other clubs are competing for EPL title.

The triple sub that came immediately after this is the least expected sub when we are losing by 2 goals. Imagine bringing on Endo and Quansah. We needed some attacking subs, not that. The remaining two subs was for Gomez and Tsimikas as substitute for Trent and Robbo. Lol.

Liverpool couldn't even get a consolation goal in a derby game. We are shitting all-over the final days of Jurgen Klopp.

Man United vs Sheffield United

Garnacho missed one hell of a sitter. Hojlund also had his moments but could make anything out of it. This played out until Sheffield broke the deadlock in the 35th minute of the game.

Man United got an equalizer, thanks to Harry Maguire. It was a controversial goal and was reviewed for offside. The goal stood nonetheless. Man United did a good job of getting an equalizer before halftime.

Big Ups to Sheffield's goalkeeper. The lad was under a lot of fire in this half of the game and managed to save most of those chances. He did a good job of keeping Sheffield United in the game.

Second Half...

Sheffield got back the lead at the beginning of the second half. It took only 5 minutes into the game for them to score the second goal of the game putting them in a 1 - 2 advantage. However, their celebration was cut short when they gave away a penalty few minutes later. Bruno wasn't going to miss that. He scored and raised the momentum for Man United

Bruno squeezed in another goal in the 80th minute of the game. This may well be the winner if Man United managed to keep their backline tight for what's left of the game. However, they did something better by scoring another goal to stretch the scoreline to 4 -2 in their favor.

What a win for them. This is a good way to bounce back after that rough ride they went through while playing Coventry in weekend. Haha.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

Hi bro,
Well Liverpool, derby day and they were unsuccessful. I felt they will slip somewhere in this title race, this could be it.

Cheers

This could be the slip. It's weird because Liverpool have messed up their chances in the last couple of games. And, this is off the back of that silly performance we displayed in both legs against Atalanta. Haha.

What a way to bid farewell to Klopp.

Kk oh now I remember you've once said of your support for Liverpool, I'm just used to the late T-fame, the Mr. Liverpool. Sad loss sha.

Well and also a way to shut me up, that performance versus Atalanta. I'm known as Mr. Coefficient in some quarters and that performance didn't help my cause at all.

If you don't mind lemme, join you to a bubbly WhatsApp group, created by Scorum Nigeria, where we talk football with a great deal of maturity.

Oh okay, yes he's gone, such a painful loss. He belonged to this same whatsapp group(though a silent member) so a few of his friends and his brother broke the sad news.
Ok sir, noted the number.

Best regards
