Liverpool dominates Real Madrid under the Anfield light.
We football lovers already know the feeling that comes from watching a competitive game on a Champions League night. The build-up to such games is usually wild, especially for a UCL game between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
I was so pumped to watch this because Liverpool have a wild UCL history with Real Madrid. It's always that sort of game that you expect to be very intense and full of several moments of brilliance.
On a footballing level, I enjoy that.
However, as a Liverpool fan, I'm never quick to forget the distasteful results we've been recording against Madrid in recent games. Well, this is the first time Liverpool will be facing them with Arne Slot as our Coach.
First Half;
The first half of the game felt like a "testing the water" moment because of the tactics explored by both Coaches. They didn't want their team to go on a crazy attacking flair. Instead, they each wanted their team to stay alert, control the tempo of the game, press smartly, and make goalscoring efforts.
Some would say it was a boring first half. Perhaps that would be the opinion of anyone who didn't have a horse in the race. However, I see it differently because I recognize the tactical impact of what each manager is trying to do. Besides, I've watched every game Liverpool has played this season and I know they always come with a different vibe in the second half.
Anfield was electric though. Liverpool fans are always known for their electrifying chants under the Anfield light on European nights. Tonight was not any different. They chanted relentlessly.
Second Half;
It was in this half of the game that all the spicy footballing actions took place. Loads of dribbles, tackles, goals, missed chances... Stuff like that.
Liverpool got the first goal in the game in this half of the game. The goal was nailed by Macca. You could almost see the goal coming because Liverpool's dominance was very obvious and undeniable.
Robertson is one of the lads in Liverpool who is struggling this season. He gave away a penalty last weekend against Southampton and did the same again tonight. Kelleher, on the other hand, stepped up and saved Mbappe's penalty kick.
Liverpool got their chance too. Salah won the penalty and stepped up to take the penalty. He surprisingly couldn't find the back of the net. The ball wasn't even on target. Lol. I couldn't react to that miss because I was genuinely surprised.
Liverpool continued to control the game and were able to get a second goal thanks to Cody Gakpo. That's the goal that sealed the 3 points for Liverpool.
Now, we look forward to Sunday's game against Manchester City. That's going to be a cracking affair.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

Lol, I was not feeling well yesterday and my friend who was meant to get drugs for me disappointed me. I was so weak that I couldn't even stay awake till the match time but when I woke up by 3 am and quickly checked livescore and seeing that we won Madrid, the Sickness left. I can't explain it but it is what it is.
