CHELIV Rant: 5 distasteful takeaways from Liverpool's performance.

Did y'all watch the 'professional EPL game' that was played tonight between Chelsea and Liverpool?

Let's just write that off as Comedy Special. Neutral fans were laughing while watching the game, but any Liverpool or Chelsea fan that watched that must have done so with so much displeasure. It felt like watching the exhibition of a badly drawn horse. Not a good look from clubs of such pedigree.

Seriously, that game was a joke of a midweek fixture. Even a game between teams fighting relegation battle would have been more interesting than what we got from that match. Below is how the game ended;

Chelsea 0 - 0 Liverpool

Make no mistake about that... The scoreline is not a true reflection of what happened in the game. It's not even close. Liverpool played rubbish from start to finish. Yeah, I can say that because I'm a Liverpool fan 😒. Chelsea on the other hand had all it takes to get the maximum points, but they messed up all their chances.

Well, all rants related to Chelsea can be done by Chelsea fans. Liverpool is already giving me too much of a headache.

Let's look at 5 distasteful takeaways from that game;

1. Curtis Jones is still rubbish

I'm one of those that backed Jones up and gave him my unwavering support. He's just a local scouse lad like Trent and Trent has achieved so much for us. I thought we will be getting something similar from Jones, but the dude has been jouncing us with his inconsistency for far too long. I can't even take it any more.

He got another opportunity to redeem himself in this game against Chelsea, but what we got is the same old jouncing Jones. I can't even pretend to be surprised... What the hell was I expecting when I saw him in the starting lineup?

2. Same old Joe Gomez.

Oh, my! I can't believe that there was a time when I was rooting for Joe to get a spot in our backline when we had up to 6 fairly decent defenders. Joe wasn't this bad a few seasons ago. I only thought he would do well in the CB position, but no sane person would drop VVD for Joe. I also thought he did decent defensive jobs as RB, but nobody would drop TAA For Joe.

A lot has changed between those days and now. VVD has not been at his best. TAA is getting schooled in every game by wingers who are average at best. This would have been a good time for Gomez to turn up and prove his worth, but I'm not seeing that spark in him. He's always looking lost in games... Just like someone that doesn't know his duty. That's not a good look.

3. Henderson needs a break.

Henderson has been inconsistent for as long as I can remember, but I respect the leadership he brings to the team. That aspect of his game is priceless, but even at that, I genuinely think he crossed the line tonight. Did you see when he yelled at Alisson? Seriously, I don't know where Hendo got the nerves to yell at the best goalkeeper in the world, but he better keep it down because Alisson has been our best player this season. I'm not even kidding.

Aside from Allison's gameplay, he has also been the calmest dude I know in a Liverpool shirt, but even he couldn't cope with Henderson's bullshit tonight. He had to talk back to the Captain and he got loads of applause for that. Yeahhhh... We are not clueless. We know that Henderson crossed the line. He can go yell at Jones and Gomez, but not Alisson.

4. Liverpool's midfield is full of shit.

To be fair, anyone that has been watching Liverpool since Klopp's days would know that our midfield has never been the best in the league. We managed to do great things with awful midfielders because we had a hot-headed goalscoring attacking line. Our fullbacks were also very instrumental in creating loads of chances.

Now, we can't boast of any of these. It exposed our midfield so much that we always go into each game with a very high chance of losing the midfield battle. It doesn't matter if we are playing Real Madrid or a team like Bournemouth... They always have a way to drag our midfield through the mud.

5. VVD is still our best defender

Some say the VVD of now is no longer the same VVD of a few years ago. Whatever that means, the fact remains that VVD is still the most composed and trustworthy defender we have on our payroll. He didn't appear in tonight's game against Chelsea and our backline was a complete mess.

Man, I can't even start to imagine what will happen if we play a whole season without VVD. Sitting down to watch our backline struggle against hungry attackers would be similar to stuffing my face with a red pill. It's insane.

It would be a lie for me to say that I am happy with the club, my expectations for them as dropped going into every match.

The boys looks tired and the team work is awful. Klopp has a lot of work to do in the team, the idea of Robertson and Arnold joining the attack full time is punishing the team and that's why this lads can't pair against average wingers.

The team is in shambles and Klopp needs to do something because as it looks, we might be missing out on European competition next season

They have dragged the fans through the mud with their poor performance. This have been the worst season under Klopp and it's very demotivating to go into each match without any hope of getting a win out of it.

Now I am wondering why he allowed the likes of Origi and Minamino leave, those guys have ensured we made a good stand in domestic cups.

There is no sign of any silverware and it could be as bad as not even making it to the conference league which I don't pray we do so that Klopp can think

Yeah. While we still have the likes of Jones, Chamberlain and Keita in the squad, the decision to release Miniamino and Origi will always hunt us. It was a bad transfer decision.

And we've been sluggishly chasing Bellingham since then, but we don't know when that will be a sealed deal.

If Liverpool doesn't make it to the champions league, it will be difficult to get the players of our choice in the next transfer window.

Yeah. Every big player of this era wants to play Champions League. I'm even more worried that we may start losing some of the decent players we already have if we fail to qualify this season
