I may have mentioned this before but we had a lanes here in Krabi for about a year. Unfortunately I don't think we really have the population necessary to sustain a bowling alley here (we are only around 50k people) and the owners probably seriously regretted this investment. The building is still there and I can't imagine they moved the lanes if that is even possible. I should ask if I can go up and have a look one day. I wonder what happens to that sort of wood when it is never maintained for a decade.

I don't know if you did mention it before or not but that is pretty interesting and if you can get into the building I too would like to see what the elements of Thailand do to a non maintained bowling alley.
In the States almost any community, regardless of how small, seems to be capable of supporting a bowling alley but over here in SE Asia, it needs to be in a relative metropolis to have a chance. Hell, I lived in Chiang Mai and at one point or another they had 3 bowling alleys and they all went out of business despite the population being near 1 million.
