Ein fast perfekter Sonntag / A pretty perfect Sunday
Gestern gab es bei uns den ersten Spargel der Saison. Es gibt nur zwei Meinungen über dieses Gemüse...entweder man liebt oder man hasst es. Ich gehöre offensichtlich zu den Liebhabern. Da ich ungeschälten Spargel gekauft habe, ging es zunächst - wie soll es auch anders sein - ans lästige Schälen. Selbst Schuld, wenn man so ein Sparfuchs ist ;)
Yesterday we had the first asparagus of the season. There are only two opinions about this vegetable...either you love it or you hate it. I am obviously one of the lovers. Since I bought unpeeled asparagus, the first thing to do - how could it be otherwise - was the annoying peeling. It's your own fault if you're such a thrifty person ;)
Ich gare den Spargel gerne in Alufolie. Etwas Zucker, Salz und Butter auf den Spargel, dann eingepackt...
I like to cook the asparagus in aluminium foil. A little sugar, salt and butter on the asparagus, then wrapped...
...und ab damit in den Ofen
...and off into the oven
...in der Zwischenzeit ein paar leckere frisch geklopfte Schnitzel in die Pfanne...
...in the meantime, a few delicious freshly pounded schnitzels in the pan...
... und fertig ist das super leckere Spargelgericht mit Schinken, Kartoffeln und natürlich Sauce Hollandaise.
... and the super delicious asparagus dish with ham, potatoes and, of course, hollandaise sauce is ready.
Die Sauce Hollandaise musste natürlich wieder abtrainiert werden, daher haben wir nach diesem köstlichen Schmaus eine schöne Radtour unternommen.
The Hollandaise sauce had to be worked off again, of course, so we went for a nice bike ride after this delicious feast.
Natürlich gab es auch eine kleine Erfrischung unterwegs.
Of course, there was also a little refreshment on the way.
Der Himmel wurde plötzlich bedrohlich dunkel...
The sky suddenly became ominously dark....
... aber wir hatten Glück, denn der Regen zog seitlich von uns weiter und wir haben es trocken nach Hause geschafft.
... but we were lucky because the rain moved on to the side of us and we made it home dry.
Das war mein fast perfekter Sonntag :)

Oh yes, I really like green asparagus too! My favourite is roasted with cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and parmesan.
A good meal and some exercise in nature can make you very happy :)

Exactly, some exercise and then a good meal! I prepare asparagus in a similar way, but it definitely needs to be roasted. I just don't use cherry tomatoes, I add a hard-boiled egg to the salad. Thanks for the tip, I'll try your variant next time,...

Wow white asparagus, it's green at our stores!
A lot of white asparagus is grown in our area. During harvest time, there are small stalls selling it on every corner. It really comes fresh from the field and is therefore a kind of delicacy here.

If you cook the white asparagus in the aluminium foil, it stays much more aromatic than if you cook it in water.
