Rain on the racing track!

After I was walking the dog in the woods looking at the radar ( because that is what Dutchies do...we are heavily focusses on rain and choose our tasks based on the radar as if we melt...I really hate walking in the rain!) the radar took a little loop with me.

It seemed like I was good to go, but the reality was that I ended up looking like a cornholio while the thunder and lightning was flying all around me in a rainstorm that was not predicted beforehand.

But what is the next best thing to do on a rainy afternoon after being a good night on the town. That is surely watching Formula 1 racing which is not my hobby at all, but is a perfect thing to do especially since this is the national Formula 1 grand prix race of the Netherlands, which is held in the city of Zandvoort

The formula 1 season has been very boring actually. Max Verstappen has been better than anyone else and I don't really enjoy watching someone driving 70 laps half a lap in front of the rest of the team.

Let me rephrase this...I would have to be really bored or hungover to actively watch a race. Usually this is background music, and often even I walk away. But today this is perfect!

*Warning: spoiler alert if you haven't watched this race as yet and want to find out yourself what happened

Like the sight of the racing track in the sun like this? It doesn't look like that today. Because in the same kind of way that I was caught off guard while walking with the weather shifting extremely fast, the same thing happened on the racing track on the other side of the country as well.

The race is still not finished at the moment, and that has everything to do with the fact that it is raining more than the tracks and safety can carry which lead them to stop the race, which to me is a wise decision.

I like the fact that someone makes a call that actually enhances safety over choosing the viewer stats and entertainment value. Driving about 300 km per hour should be sensefull, and which is more like driving a speedboat at the moment the race is paused.

So if the race is stopped and I don't really like watching this is general. Why am I watching then? Well, it is the moment of national sport here and I guess everyone will be talking about this again around the coffee machine tomorrow, adopting Max Verstappen again as our prophet on wheels.

The question rises now if the race will restart at all, or if they will take the position as it was with still 7 laps to go and just leave it.

Who knows...back to the powernap!

Rain is both good and bad! Great because we need it but also bad because it reduces a lot of things we can do. The balance of life that’s for sure!
