Investing is like going to the gym
Hello people from all world
Today I want to write to you about what I think about investments, using a comparison about going to the gym
So, I've been lifting weights since I was 13 years old. Unfortunately, I don't do it directly. I stopped for a while when I went to study for university entrance exams and stopped for a few years later. I started doing it again in January of this year and, as it was when I started at 13, I feel the same effect on the body and, I think, in order to gain muscle mass, we need to follow some steps:
I train with good frequency at the gym, adequate food, good sleep, muscle rest time and, above all, let time take effect on top of everything already mentioned. It's no use entering the gym and thinking that we will have a beautiful body in a short time. It takes several months, even years, for us to have a "compound interest" effect on our muscle mass and cardiorespiratory condition.
In investments it is the same. Let's think about investing in the stock market, for example. We started with little money. At first, we didn't feel compound interest, because our equity is very small. But, over the years and, as in bodybuilding, a lot of training (that is, constant contributions to good companies), we will have the effect of compound interest and we will see our equity grow in the same way that we see our body gain muscle mass in physical exercises practiced.
The process for growing in these two is the same. We dedicate ourselves to work with perseverance, and wait for the passage of time to happen to reap our result. It's no use, both in bodybuilding and in stock market investments, looking for shortcuts to reach goals faster. Shortcuts can, with a chance close to 100%, break the effect of compound interest on our goal and make us lose muscle mass or equity.
That's it folks. I would really appreciate your comments on my post. If anyone here does exercises, what do you think of my comparison??
Thank you all and good morning.

I think it's a good comparison. Anything we do gets better with practice and mental and physical muscle memory.

I agree. Thanks a lot for you comentary, man!!
I'd also say the same thing when learning about investing and research. I spent six months increasing my financial knowledge before I made my first investment. The more we learn, the better we can navigate the bumps in the road on our financial journey.
