El Grupo A de este mundial deja a la selección anfitriona de Qatar matemáticamente eliminada y tras el empate entre Ecuador y Países Bajos, cualquier cosa podría suceder el próximo martes. Hoy Ecuador dio una muestra de autoridad y buen nivel, se mostró nuevamente a esa selección que fue capaz de golear a Colombia y Uruguay durante las eliminatorias, mostrando un equipo integrado, con físico y con un nivel de juego que no se hace pequeño ante ninguna selección, teniendo enfrente a Países bajos, selección que para muchos es una de las candidatas a ganar esta copa del mundo.

El partido fue vendido por la prensa como un partido defensivo para la selección sudamericana, y se hablaba de que sería un Ecuador buscando un empate sin goles con sabor a victoria, nada más lejos a la realidad del partido que pude ver y me encanta el hecho de que Ecuador se está mostrando como una real candidata, como una selección competitiva y proyectándose a tener uno de los mejores mundiales de su historia.

Ya no me hace gracia ver a los comentaristas deportivos, pues caen en el irrespeto cuando frente a Qatar se habló de que los asiáticos no tenían buen nivel y hoy frente a Países bajos hablaban de una Holanda apagada o que no se encontraba en el partido. Para mí, lo de hoy es lo que en el futbol se le suele conocer como un marcador engañoso, que no reflejaba las estadísticas reales del encuentro.

Durante todo el partido Holanda se veía asfixiado y en ocasiones se lograba apreciar discusiones en sus jugadores pidiendo más posesión, más ritmo y reclamando errores en defensa que terminaban en jugadas de peligro para la Tri; Ya en el agregado del primer tiempo, Ecuador tuvo la del empate que tras una interpretación del arbitraje fue un gol anulado, no me gusta hablar de los árbitros, sin embargo, esta vez fue pura interpretación, sin participación del VAR y una jugada que incluso los jugadores holandeses se lamentaron más que reclamar un fuera de juego.
