CHELSEA HITS SEVEN
Premier League Matchday 9 kicked off today 23 October 2021 with an encounter between Norwich and Chelsea at the Stanford Bridge.
Norwich having just three points from eight matches came into the game with the determination to take a point home or possibly all three points. Their hope was cut short by Mason Mount long shot just right minutes into the game. Ten minutes later, Hudson Odoi doubled the lead for Chelsea and step up Reece James for the third goal. The first half ended 3-0.
12 minutes into the second, Ben Chiwell dink the Norwich goalkeeper to give Chelsea a deserved Four goals lead. An own goal from Max Aarons in the 62nd minute and the sensing off of Gibson three minutes later made it difficult for the visitors. Mason mount retook an earlier missed penalty at the 85th minute to make the match a rout. He was finally stepped up by Loftus Cheek at the 90+1 minute to make it 7-0 for the team and a hat trick for himself.
Chelsea is now sitting at the top of the table with 22 points. The outcome of the encounter between Liverpool and Manchester United at Old Trafford will determine whether Chelsea retain a 4 points lead or their lead reduced to one point.
See you tomorrow after the Super Sunday encounter.
