It can cause tides and Mars is smaller than the earth, therefore, the gravity of the sun, even if Mars is a little further away, affects it more, at that time, at that time when pulling those from the ocean of mars to cause tides.


And there is another factor, and that is that there is a theory that has quite a lot of support, by the way, which says that the Martian moons are actually remains that remain of a large Moon much larger than the ones it currently has, Mars currently the largest moon is Phobos with 23 km in diameter, there was a primitive moon on Mars, not like ours, not as big as ours, but of a respectable size that disintegrated, broke into pieces, in fact in that theory it states that Mars had for a time a ring of rocks and dust and the current moons of Mars are the remains that remain of that larger Moon, so in any case Mars did have tides in that ocean and therefore it could perfectly have had beaches.
