I had a nice time these few months. It was such an unpredictable world cup final; after lots of tussling, the Argentina team came out victorious through a penalty shootout against France. A big congratulations to the winners, particularly my idol, Lionel Messi, who ended his professional career with his national team in a grand style. It is worth celebrating!
During the world cup, one of the star players, Cristiano Ronaldo made a statement in an advert before every match begins; he said: “Soccer is what brings people together.” I truly agree with that fact because history made me recall the incident at Cote d’Ivoire; their popular striker, Didier Drogba scored a winning goal in the match, and while celebrating he dedicated the goal to his dear country that was at war. That was how the war within his country ended then. The power of football!

In this light, soccer has advanced to another level where people come together and play it as a game. Beyond just playing on the pitch, it is being closed doors as games; with this, soccer still retains its call for bringing people together. It's interesting how soccer has developed from a game that was only played for fun to one that is now a #play2earn game.
