btw i had a deeper look into ICP. Amazing technology with limitless potential.
Canisters are fucking groundbreaking. No bridges and can still operate in an isolated environment. Keys scrambled to fuck within the canisters, and even if 2 of 5 scrambled key fragments/nodes get corrupted or hacked, the canisters can still retrieve the keys for usage. Fucking ultimate middle finger to the enemy.
However because of the nature of the tech, being smart contract based, with the ability to store heavy mega super duper monumental phat phat data into the ICP blockchain (via canisters), i can see how entire nations can be NFT'd onto the ICP blockchain (hoping that my understanding isn't too far off), including data of all citizens. I can't help but feel uneasy at this paradigm.
But the prospects of such tech, if ICP can truly remain decentralised and not backdoored (i am unsure how one would backdoor such a thing), this ICP will be a great tool for the free peoples. I will be keeping an eye out for the Blackrock and Vanguard guys. If they take interest in it then its game over.
i have similar concerns and am still learning.
right now there is absolute truth embargo. i. the worst case one would ride the icp hype upwards when it does eventually reach the masses. and then maybe sell if decentralization is compromised.
the question remains how autonomous some dapps and communities can stay on icp, the only way to take them down would be at a system level. which is of course always the problem, someone with a huge amount of money can just buy the majority stake and thereby steer the network.
but then, that is he issue with all other platforms, even blurt. so the way i see it i want to be part of icp and hope it doesnt derail. if it does i will be out.
you can sell your internet identity anytime, which is just huge. meaning even if you stake for maximum duration you can always exit completely within 4 weeks.
the whole internet architecture approach they take is glorious. i feel the internet 2.0 will collapse soon enough as cybercrime and vulnerabilities are just too rampant.
i am these days looking into launching something on icp, and test whether it can run truly decentralized or if it's just a pipe dream.
as for identification, there is so far no reason to consent to sharing personal information or biometric information with icp. not even an email. so while i see and share your concern about nft'ing everything, that seems far off still. before that eth, btc and solana will die, just like most of the rest of the vaporware cryptos. it will be one giant wtf moment for the crypto community who have slept on thos thing and drank the controller-kool aid about xrp and the rest of the crap.
i am half in now. should we hit $4.31 i will be all in.
dream target 3.36, but i do not have the cool head and patience for it ahahaha. too much fomo. when caffeine ai drops, i will be among the first to try it. seeing if it really can develop an app. there are also other amazing developments i am still trying to wrap my head around, its quite the rabbit hole.
