They Must Be Cursed
About 26 games into the Major League Baseball season and as a New York Mets fan, I'm reliving the same nightmare, albeit the season is way too early.
But, if you follow MLB at all; it's impossible not to know that Mets fans have had very few gleaming moments. Ownership was mostly to blame, but now we literally have the richest owner in the game. He's a billionaire.
So obviously, as a fan you finally get some relief that things are finally going to change. That we are about to kick some a$$.
We have inarguably the best pitcher in baseball, Jacob DeGrom and we still can't score runs for him.
We traded for one of the most dynamic players in the game, Francisco Lindor, signed him to a 300 million dollar plus contract and he has begun the season with his worst or one of his worst batting slumps in his career. Of course, he's a Met now.
The team collectively and offensively have been offensive and not in a good way. Our presumed weakness, the bullpen actually has been above average; but without what our offense should be - we will be in trouble. Yes, I say we; because I am a New York Met, just like I am a Dallas Cowboy, just like I am a New York Knick - for as very long that I can remember.
Well, it's the same old New York Mets. I will always be a fan and I hold out hope that our potential will rise to the top soon enough, because as disappointed as I am in how we started; when you look at the standings - there is a long way to go 👍 Let's F&^%ING Go Mets!
