Less Lit, but Inferno Completed - My Actifit Report Card: April 17 2023

It's Monday, so I'm holding true to not missing a Monday workout. Never Miss a Monday is something I still strive for every week.
Of course, I'm into week two of battling this cold that has hit the household and I'm the last one to get it so I'm basing my recovering on theirs. So if it holds true, I'll be sick another week.
Now, I have no fever and they test negative for COVID and I've had COVID and there is no way I have that shit now. That felt like death was knocking at at my door, this is more of an annoying scratchy throat and phlegm mode - YUCK!
So, I did listen to my body and took three days off and today was my first day back and I expected very little when it came too how many caloires I was going to burn or splats for that matter.
What I had forgotten about was that today, was a benchmark day and it was the one where you row your face off between 0.1 distances on the treadmills and then hopefully match your personal record, surpass it or start a new if you just started OTF.
I've been doing this for years, but I was at a disadvantage today of course.
I started off the year great and that actually helped me at least on the endurance side get through the whole template including the benchmark. Although the numbers were disappointing, because I'm hard on myself. I'm also realistic and was just happy and lucky to get through it and give my body some good activity to get the week started off right!
On to the workout:
For the weighted excercises, I used 15 pounders for the reverse flys, 25 pound dumbbells for the bench chest flys and reciprocating shoulder presse and a 50 pounder for the high plan pull throughs.
Floor Block 1 - 8 minutes
• Back to back:
• 10 total TRX Alligators
• 8 Bench Chest Flys
• 10 total Seated Reciprocating Shoulder Presses, rest
• 12 total Alternating Low Side Planks
Floor Block 2 - 8 minutes
• Back to back:
• 5 TRX Single Arm Reaches with Rotations, each side
• 10 Reverse Flys
• 10 total High Plank Pull Throughs, rest
• 12 total Bird Dogs
Floor Block 3 - 4 minutes
• 12 Reverse Crunches
• 12 total Dead Bugs, rest
FINISHER: increase intensity on the exercises (Coach allowed us to make a coach and many of us chose the Dead Bugs)
BENCHMARK TIME:
Row / Tread Block - 23 minutes
• Reset our row monitors and let it run the full 23 minutes:
• 100 meter push to ALL OUT row and then to the treadmill and for runners we had to run 0.1 miles
• 200 meter push to ALL OUT row and then to the treadmill and for runners we had to run 0.1 miles
• 300 meter push to ALL OUT row and then to the treadmill and for runners we had to run 0.1 miles
• ===> Each round add 100 meters to the row, try to stay close to a push effort on the rower
• Last minute is an ALL OUT row
• Record your row distance
Because we had the row monitors running the whole 23 minutes we couldn't record our treadmill time as you can't have both running simulataneously for it to be recorded by the OTBeat and since this was predominantly a row challenge then the rower is what kept generating the meters rowed.
Honestly, I went in this morning not even worried about personal records or anything along those lines. I was just happy to be under the orange lights getting my exercises on.
My very best time for this type of benchmark was 3,601 back in 2021 and that was about 6 months after COVID so that wasn't bad at all. Of course, my ultimate goal is to hit 4000 plus one day.
As I navigated through COVID, the injuries, the car accident I went backwards with 3330 being the last time we did this benchmark in January of this year and with the cold doing it today 3316 which was actually encouraging because it wasn't so far off.
2023 for the most part has been amazing for my reset and this cold was not anticipated, but it hasn't crush my soul either lol.
MY OTBEAT HEART RATE MONITOR RESULTS:
Numbers across the board were definitely way below average for what I'm accustomed to, but today was just more about getting into the fitness studio and get back into a groove.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Can't really be too pumped about any highlights, but a 500 plus calorie burn has always been a minimal burn for me since day one. These workouts it's hard for me to settle for less than that. I got my 500.
ZONES:
Tomorrow, Tiffany and I will head back to the home studio as we did this morning where we worked out with Heach Coach Mariah managing us through the template and it will be Coach Brooke subbing for Coach Alex when we get there.
