Morocco Makes history in the World Cup 2022

I hope everyone one is doing great, Qatar 2022 World Cup heads into it’s semi final stages and I couldn’t be more happier with the qualification of one particular country Morocco. Yesterday afternoon, I watched the game between Portugal and Morocco. My expectations before the game were to see Portugal qualify and yet again football proved me wrong and we saw Morocco qualify which makes us very Proud (Africans).

As it stands, Morocco’s qualification into the semis means that, they are now the the first African country in history to make it into the World Cup semi finals. This is an achievement that we all as Africans can finally boast about. For years now the World Cup has been dominated by South American countries and the other countries. But now Africa has a shot at wining this prestigious trophy.

Let’s quickly talk about the game yesterday. Having watched the match, for the first 43 minute of the game Portugal were not in the game they were sleeping. And Morocco took advantage of that situation and grabbed a goal close to the end of the first half. (A very brilliant header by Enysiri). After the goal was scored you could see the a change in momentum because that goal awoke a sleeping giant in Portugal. And they starred pressuring them. But they weren’t clinical until the break.

Santos wasn’t taking this game lightly because early into the second half he brought in Ronaldo and Cancelo. Then I said to myself, “ the game is about to get serious” I was thinking he was going to take Dalit off and let him play that flank (I think he plays better there). At this stage I didn’t Ronaldo to get knocked out and I also didn’t want Morocco to lose, I was kinda supporting both.

The game got very intense because of the arrival of these players, they were able to create a few chances however they didn’t get pass through Bono. At this point Morocco we’re defending with their lives they were also able to create quite a few chances that they should have scored and killed the game before the end of the game but they didn’t.

The game ended in Favour of the Moroccans and Africa. Now they will face the champions France in the semifinals. I’m tempted to say France will qualify but come to think of it when have I ever been right when it came to predicting the next country to qualify? Maybe I will be wrong this time around, I hope I am.
