Agreed. This is why I think deciding on what to do with the ad revenue would be better in my opinion as it serves a few purposes:
- Get more people to know about the proposals
- Let people understand why this front-end is important
- Understand where the money in the community and it's efforts are heading
After we hash out the above points, I think people will have a better understanding of how much taxes they want to put as reasonable. This is because they know the goal of the community's ad revenue.

No it's not only for tokens. There were other things he suggested such as to onboard more users like Trivia, Quizes and competitions to attract new users. This is another use case of the ad revenue to be used partially as prizes.
I thought that's was gonna be taken from the governance fund?
It might be but I think he suggested to use some satoshis or other cryptos as the main prize and a SPORTS vote for all participants. This means that if it was taken out of the gov fund, he would still have to pay for it by selling SPORTS. Unfortunately attracting new users with only SPORTS token is not going to work as they have zero trust in this random token. This is why the main prize is going to be something different.
This was what I think Patrick was trying to say but I could be wrong.
Maybe that's true. A price in BTC would be better for attracting new people since it's something they know and trust
I agree completely , maybe we can do something like pay in BTC and burn equal amount of SPORTS .
We can probably do this but I think everything needs to hash out and figure out how exactly the funds should be used first.
I actually have good reputation at bitcointalk forum where I used to discuss a lot about cricket and other sports long time ago . Maybe if this post gets good engagement , I will go and post over there to hop on here and earn some SPORTS / HIVE to do the exact same thing.
You can go over there and suggest it later when the competition happens. Have them come over to gain some extra crypto and maybe they can get used to the SPORTS site. I think we do need a FAQ explaining HIVE and SPORTS in a easy to understand way for newcomers though. They need to know about the payout window and other things.
One of the uses of Ad revenue can be burning the tokens but not 100% .
We community should once again vote for how to use the tokens , burn them ? Sell them for Hive ? Reward them ? Etc.
True , right now most of the users on STS are more aware of 2 and 3 than 1 .
It is just because it is very new to people . I guess in future ( say 2-3 months ) we can actually see people utilizing Proposal system more and more.
